Umm...Espy's sort of "triggered" this one...two actually, but the second one is more private...from the other end of suicide...

You really, really don't want to read this. This is what suicide looks like to the one attempting it. This is not a rational mindset, and if you find yourself agreeing with this, I will find you and hug you until you get better...no one should ever have to feel this way. No one should have to ask why they are still alive.

Why am I alive?
What use am I…
What have I done…
Nothing is worth it...
I am meaningless before I begun…
Why do I struggle? I am naught,
But a parasite, an insect,
Less than algae.

I have failed…I have failed…
I can’t take this more-so useless,
Ha! I can’t even bleed away the impure,
I am a tool, a broken tool, and it is time…
My life is a laughless joke and lie...
+ I hate its emptiness...

I will sleep to my songs one last time…
I will awaken to the fear that has hurt me before…
Oh what awful sound, the gripping hands…
Oh, how inadequate I am to gaze upon a person’s glory,
And yet how brutal, how simple they are – so imperfect,
Yet no matter how “ideal,” they avoid me…
I am a figurehead. I am a puppet, a parakeet of hope…
Now, broken, unstitched, torn…

Why can’t I bleed it out? The blade is dull…
Why can’t I run? People always grab me…
Why can’t they abandon me? They seemed good at it before…

The hour is late…too late,
I can’t go on as a flawed diamond,
As a talentless man…

Thus, I stand,
None to stop me,
Here at this bridge,
Away from College,
Away from home,
I can become a mystery,
I can become the land,
Such clarity, such freedom,
To take my own for once…
Shall I take the plunge?...
I can finally be free to rest...

Why must tasty food be painful!

Than the wasabi chips.

I will attempt something serious again, one of these days. I'm just on a steam of consciousness binge right now.

As I watch the lantern leave
My fears they stop
Because I know now you are free

Sadly that is all I got..

In my dappled cloak
I hide in the shadows of the forest

Perched precariously on a branch
I nock an arrow to the string and wait

Hoofbeats approach.
No hounds? The poor fools.

Two topple from the horses
Black-flighted shafts spurt out of their throats.

The horses stumble in their confusion
Suddenly being a soldier lighter.

I left fly a sliver of silver from my fingertips.
Another has time to grab at the hilt -- then falls.

Two left.
They never learn.

I leap knife-first onto a mounted man.
His horse is a perfect springboard.

The last turns to run from the phantasmic ghost
Before my blade kisses him goodnight.

Oh, my father…
You, who knew nothing of me,
Why, why must I play with your friends?
I just want to sleep right now…

Oh, my mother…
Why can’t I dry your tears,
I love you, don’t you see –
I just want you to be happy…
I’ll listen to your horrors,
If you will hug me…

Oh, family…
We are cursed, aren’t we?
Martyrs married to Abusers…
Which one am I?

Oh friends…
Why do I see you go?
We don’t talk anymore,
Yet still I am great to you,
Then for your sake, great I shall remain,

Oh teacher…
Why have you left me so?
They humiliated me,
They damaged me…
But I shall just work harder…

Oh ancestors...
How you wither and die,
Twice a year,
In indecent health...

Oh gods…
Why am I so alone?
Are you punishing me for their sins?
I cannot focus anymore…I don’t know why I try…

Oh College…
Why did you bring me here?
I have nothing left in me after these long years…

Does it make you proud,
this wretch of a child
without heart, without grace;
stumbling into stagnancy,
and whose last gesture of faith
is in a little paper boat
listing in the reeds?

Dazed in a dream
How I feel everyday
Lost in a labyrinth
Every moment of my existence
Adrift in the abyss
Trying to find my way
Banished to the bone yard
Rejected by those around me
Outcast to Oblivion
Not that they care for me much anyway
Isolated to insanity
Alone I suffer in my pain.

For some reason my poems for this always turn out far more lonesome and sad than I intend. :/
