"Anything." Mello turned to Near- suddenly looking concerned again.

"If he comes to Mello for comfort," Near said, looking the blonde in the eyes. "Will Mello promise to give it to him?"

Mello stared at Near a moment- seeming a bit confused and surprised before he nodded.

"Of course...but what about you?" Mello asked.

"What about me?" Near asked, frowning. "I'm not the one who was murdered, Mello."

Giving a small nod, Near climbed off the bed.

"Where are you going?" Mello asked- slipping off as well. "Don't go off and do anything...you're still recovering too, I don't care what K says about it."

Mello frowned and gave a firm nod.

Near turned to him and lifted an eyebrow. "I was going to go to the bathroom, Doctor Keehl."

"...Right." Mello nodded- feeling rather stupid at how over protective he was being.

He stepped back and sat down on the bed again.

Shaking his head, Near slipped into the bathroom and closed the door behind himself.

"Its weird," Naveen whispered, causing Mello to jump - had he been awake the whole time? - and turn to look at him. "Seeing you be so nice to him..."

"Even before, when you were with both of us," Naveen hummed. "You were never this nice... its probably why he's acting so weird. You aren't acting like you and its making him uneasy."
