Why not both? It can be performance art. Human munches on plastic bottles. Machine then munches on human. It can be some sort of symbolism about society.

Whether intentional or not, your avatars seem to embody a character with an unusual mix if traits in a way that works. Like it tells a story without needing to say anything. Not everyone can do that.
