This supply run had gone well so far. Rhys was out with Kat, one of his closest friends. Today they decided to check out a local grocery store, as dangerous as that was. They were careful though, and only one zombie lay dead in their wake with a machete chop to the skull.
Rhys scanned the isles of the ruined Publix keeping track of the movements of the undead as well as his friend. Occasionally he threw a piece of scrap toward the end of the store opposite of Kat, drawing nearby walkers away from her, though she moved more quickly and quietly than anyone in their group.
Scouting parties in the group always consisted of exactly 2 members, the members assigning themselves either cat or mouse. The cat was a watch who's job it was to keep track of threats and distract them when necessary. The mouse's job was to gather the supplies as quickly and as quietly as possible. Rhys and Kat traded the jobs on each outing, each trying to best the other for fun.
Kat crept up an empty isle looking to Rhys and motioning towards the exit. She had gotten all they would get today, and night was fast approaching. The two left the store and moved to the side where they parked their car. It was a small black vehicle and neither knew what it was, both knowing little about make or model and caring even less. It was quiet, and that was all that mattered. They made their way to it and quickly got in.
"What'd you get?" Rhys asked looking at the backpack that Kat was carrying.
"Not much. This place is about dry. Just a couple cans of beans. I did find a can of corn though. Here ya go." she said, tossing the can to him. "I won't tell anyone if you don't." she smirked.
"Thanks, Now lets get out of here. It's getting dark."
Kat reached for the key and turned it, a grumble sounding from the engine that then went quiet. She tried a couple more times, then looked at the fuel guage.
"Damn. I think we're out." she said.
"How is that. We fueled up before we left?"
The two climbed out of the car and ducked under it. A slow dripping sound tapped from underneath.
"It was fine before we started." Rhys whispered. "What happened?"
"I don't know." Kat replied, "but we don't have time to stay here. Lets grab what we can and head back on foot." Rhys agreed and grabbed his backpack. Machetes in hand the two crept into the woods beside the store and made their way toward the safe house.

Shadow made his way through the store finally stumbling upon a small switch on the wall he proceeded to flip it as he did the entire building lit up revealing blood and gore in his wake. "Oh, Great so it was blood" He said looking down at his hand and wiping it against the wall with a disgusted look. "Well, food is going to be a priority here"

Shadow looked around the convenient store and found a large Duffel bag at closer inspection it had already been previous half filled with food. "Someone in here must have had the same idea but never made it back in Shadow"

He smirked and threw the bag over his shoulder walking through various aisle's grabbing what ever he could find that wasn't soaked in blood and stuffing it in the bag until it was full over to the cash register He began searching for things that would be useful guns, ammo, medical equipment anything. He was lucky this time he notice under the counter were several fully loaded 9mm clips and next to it the button that was generally used to unlocked the case pipes and allow the gas to flow through shadow grabbed the clips in a rush loading on into his gun and hitting the button that allow customers to pump gas. 'Bing' the pump outside near the rv rung. It was the sound that you would usually hear to let you know you could continue pumping.

Shadow was trying to stay quite but this just wasn't his day as he glanced out the window of the store he noticed a small horde of zombies cluttering up around the rv.. "NO! Damn it leave her alone!" Shadow took off at the fastest pace possible through the store blowing past the door and outside he tossed the bag onto the top of the rv where the moon roof was hoping avalon would just open it take the supplies and leave.

"COME AT MY YOU UGLY DETERIORATING BASTARDS!" Shadow pick up a hand full of rocks and began tossing them one by one at the horde. The zombie turned around an let out a few noises as if it was talking to its fellow zombies"Ngh? UHHH!!!!" after that the zombies began chase on Shadow just how he wanted it to be Shadow quickly pulled out his gun fumbling around trying to screw the silencer on. He wasn't thinking clearly this girl had a future and it was in his hands.

[Dawn]

"I am sure Shadow is giving the zombies straight hell." Chloe replies, her expression set in a grimace, "Besides, if we want to leave this town alive, getting a set of wheels that actually runs would be first priority. I doubt any of us want to stay in a Hospital for months on end.."

Avalon shrieks as the first zombie starts pounding on the glass of the car, trying to break the glass to get in to her. Scrambling into the back and dragging the still sleeping Roz to her, tears run down her face. Suddenly, something lands on the moon roof. Seeing Shadow running from the store and throwing things at the zombies surrounding the car and rv to get their attention so they would follow him. So far it was working..

Using the time that Shadow was buying, Avalon opens the moon roof far enough to pull the bag inside before closing it again...

Shadow finally manages to get the silencer on the end of his gun he steps backwards to aim his pistol and fires off a few rounds into the zombies legs. Without a moment to loose Shadow ran to the driver door of the car and attempted to open it but alas it was lock "Damn it!" He looked over to the passenger seat only to realize Avalon had moved to the back he fumbled through his pockets frantically trying to find the keys.

[Dawn]

Huddled back with Roz, the bag resting on the floor at her feet, Avalon buries her face into the soft, auburn hair of the tot's. Hearing a sound at the driver's door, she glances up to see Shadow, not zombies, trying to get in the car. Damn idiot, didn't he remember he locked the door?
She reaches over the front seat and pops the lock..

Shadow notices starts to become surrounded his life on the line he notices avalon popping the lock on the door he grabs for the door swinging out at a fast speed busting open a few zombie skulls along the way and jumps into the car relocking it "What happened to my brave little warrior?" he said teasing the girl and Shadow opens the moon roof and climbs to the top of the rv sniping the rest with his pistol.

[Dawn]

Avalon huffs, "I wasn't scared, I was protecting Roz, you old bat." she watches Shadow pick off the rest of the zombies surrounding the RV.

Shadow slides himself down and into the drivers seat kicking the door open knocking any remaining zombie carcass down. "Sure, if thats what you wanna call it" Shadow smirked and slowly stepped out of the car walking to the gas pump and pulling the hose out. He stops for a few seconds to look around the area in case of any more surprise attacks.

After making sure he stuck the whose into the gas pipe in the rv filling the gas tank to its full extent. "Well, Shadow you have made it this far I believe that's a decent accomplishment" He chuckled and laughed at himself pulling the hose out and proceeding to screw the gas cap on. Returning the hose to the rightful place Shadow makes his way back into the car and looks at Avalon as he closes and locks the door "So, You probably know this place better than i do, Know about any close hospital's your sister might know about?"

[Dawn]

"There's only one hospital in the town, you know." Avalon says, annoyed, her eyes dark.. "And there's such a thing as cell phones you know." She slides back into the seat and pulls out her cell.

Lance laughed he was annoying her for once it was funny. "I don't bother with those things, I have no one to talk to on them always been just me " He said with a smile as he turned the car on and pulled out of the Gas station

[Dawn]

"And you must think me and Chloe have a huge circle of friends, eh?" Avalon snaps at him, typing a text in quickly, "She got for me cause I happen to be sick most of the time and might need to get in touch with her if I'm not at home."

Lance frowns and stays silent he felt as though he probably needed to just leave the girl alone he was trying to be nice and make freinds with her but at this point it seemed futile

[Dawn]

After sending the text, Avalon sighs, "Sorry for snapping. It's just been.. you know." She glances out of the window, "Hectic.. I don't mean to sound all hostile and shit like that but.. I'm not really social.. I'm so use to having to stand my own ground."

[Natsunaine]

"Don't worry about it, I know alot about being non social i have to carry on conversations with myself at times to stay sane.." Lance patted the girl gently on the shoulder and smiled "but, you are welcome to depend on me to help you stand your ground"

[Dawn]

Avalon smiles, "I don't go that far, you know.." she leans back, "Chloe does her best, she raised me practically.. she's more my mother to me than my real mother was."
