I played 3rd and 3.5. My gaming group only plays Pathfinder now, but we still sometimes have trouble thinking... not in 3.5 terms. "Well I know it was like that in 3.5, but I'd have to check the Pathfinder rules to make sure it's the same."

A lot of the stuff is very similar though.

We're all mad here.
I pick up some of the Pathfinder stuff for additional materials or modules to add to my game. I generally just convert stuff to DnD 3.5 rules. I have nothing in particular against 4e, and it works find when we're playing the kick-in-door variety of game, which is what my friends and family normally tend to do, but I do like 3.5 characters better. Or course, part of it might still be me being bitter because the 4e bard is in the second players handbook which I don't want to bother getting.

I'm currently playing throgh a modified version of Entombed with the Pharoahs which I think is a Pathfinder mod though I need to check. I play a bard currently, which I had to revamp and submit three times before he made it into a game. Was worth it though. I like him. :)

One of these days my brother and were comtemplating running the updated Tomb of Horrors but we aren't sure who should run it. I've never encountered it before, and he has read the book and the adventure so he knows most of the rooms, however I would be tweeking and adding my own touches to it.

I really miss not having Dungeon of Dragon magazines anymore. I know the material is on DnD insider but I still prefer he paper mags for ease of reference. I often have several books and pages scattered around when I'm making a dungeon (we tend to refer to all adventures as dungeons around here;)).

I'm late with the next one which we planned for February, but we've all been so busy that is hasn't happened yet, adn I've changed ideas some five times.

Speaking of which, would people around here be interested in a play-by-post game if it's allowable on this forum? An electronic dice roller is all that's needed and there are sites that do those online. I have my previous dungeon that I made sitting around since I wasnt planning on doing much else with it. Though that first hallways will need to be editted, seeing as I've mentioned he spent traps. ;)

Why are you converting backwards? Pathfinder works very well with 3.5, but in general, the characters and monsters are a bit more powerful.

As for play-by-post, that would be cool. I've been wanting to rp recently.

I'd definitely join a PbP if someone runs one. Outside of Quiet's game over at Wizards of the Coast, I haven't had a chance to play DnD in years.

Converting backwards? Not sure what you mean there unless you're talking Pathfinder to DnD. I generally don't do anything with Pathfinder, I just userp the stuff on occasion, but I do buy older materials that I'm interested in, like old 2e Ravenloft critter books or third party stuff that may or may not be D20. I guess I should clarify myself and say that I convert to the S20 system, if needed, and otherwise adjust the flavour to suit my DnD games (I don't play Living Greyhawk or anything so location doens't usually matter unless it's specifically setting based).

The adventure I have in mind certainly shouldn't be as slow as Tyger, Tyger, in part because it doesn't have the large amount of backstory and character influences that Tyger does. It's mostly straight forward with rp based on current character interactions. At least, thats what I'm assuming.

Well, given that Tyger requires an investment of roughly ten minutes a month, I think I can handle another RP. :p

I know at least one person who is busy and assume another one is too since they are playing with me in another game and haven't posted in a while, but it would be nice if people would actually let me know such things. I may have to throw some wandering monsters in just to be annoying. There are monsters on the ship now, after all.;)

Question here, what's the sort of table-top people here like to play? Curious because, while I enjoy role play I often find there's very little of it when we play at the table beyond the odd jokey interaction between players. That's probably from the people I play with. It's all about discovering what's in the next room, what might try to kill you, and what you have to figure out to avoid being dead and to get the treasure.

When I played DnD, we never really got in-character. The atmosphere was never serious or focused enough for that, not to mention, most of the group was more interested in the game aspect than the story aspect. Half the time when we played, we didn't even bother naming our characters. Whenever I tried to run a serious campaign, it never lasted. It would always devolve into idiotic antics that brought the game to a screeching halt.

Then again, I'm not sure I'd be all that good at RPing at a table. I like the online format better, as I can put more thought into my character's actions and dialogue.

I usually atribute devolution at the table to the bottles of booze that float around every game.

I game group I played with in Fort St. John when I lived there weren't big in character development but we always tried to play in character, hence if a character had crappy wisdom, which one did, of course he went after most of the shiny things, not noticing the telltale bits of trap here and there. And my dumb blonde of a barbarian (elf barbarian ;)) wasn't terribly cautious when it came to opening doors. Good thing she had a good fort save.

For some reason, all the characters I rolled at that place where a little lacking in the intelligence department. We played the World of Warcraft RPG and I had a Taruen Shaman that was also not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Fun though :). Her best attack was her headbutt so I spent most of the game lighting things on fire and running into stuff. It made for some comical moments when I missed.

Theres a WoW table top? xD; I used to play the MMO, and I wasn't very good. Never got completely skilled with it, either, because my friend at the time was letting me use his account, and he went and deleted my character. I was not happy at all. ><;

We recently got into Pathfinder here. We've been mainly playing 2e and Star Wars Sagas, which are great and all, but we wanted 3.5 fix. We've got most of our characters built (I'm a Half-Elf Sorcerer with Earth Elemental Bloodline :3). So now we're just waiting for when everyone is free, and with summer break right around the corner, our school-bound gamers will have plenty of time on their hands.

I love how the rogues got beefed up, too! Rogues do it from behind, but now they can do it from behind with magic! xD

I didn't know there was a WoW table-top either. o_o Learn new things everyday, huh?

Why would you want to play a WoW table top game?
isn't the computer game soul sucking enough?
@.@

-yes I've played wow.
I can see what people like but its just not for me... not after my boyfriend was obsessed with it... said he would play it WITH me and didn't...
WoW is NOT good enough for me to forgive that..
Dx

Anyways;
I really want to play the OZ table top game as well as look into the Firefly one...

Gah... That really sucks, Miz.

I've heard about the Firefly game, and I'd really love to play that one. Browncoat 4 life. xD

Oz: Dark & Terrible, right? That sounds like it'll be good. It kinda reminds me of that mini-series they had on Syfy, Tin Man.
