Well, let's just put it this way. Approaching any of the staff here with questions or concerns, or even just talking about different topics on the forum is the same level of intensity to me as approaching any of the friends I've made here. It's so not even on the radar that I don't get anxious or nervous about it. Which means so much to me, because I get anxious even asking long-time friends on facebook or over skype about stuff.

So thank you, Trisphee staff, for making a safe haven for everyone.
I use She/Her and They/Them pronouns.

Acid was the owners screen name at uni3 and before. Acid changed his screen name to Tarsupin at uni4. At uni5 it may have been Brint, or maybe that was just his name. I didn't hang around uni5 that much.

Every time the unifaction site needed a big change, they ended up doing that by changing the website. At uni3, people were able to make threads for item ideas. That allowed people to express if they like an item idea and why. At uni4, that was replaced by all ideas being stuffed in all threada. People were supposed to express their enjoyment of an item through pressing like on a post. Where uni3 was full of people and energy, uni4 started to loose it's energy, so to say.

all started around the time when a mod by the name of MamaD either was no longer part of the staff, or website. While I'm not sure which one, it's because she just sort of vanished. Or maybe it started when some of the staff tried to make another website. That site is neither here nor there though, and probably unrelated anyway. That is its own can of worms.

A group formed off uni3 briefly to try to figure out what is going on in uni3 to cause this inactivity. Some in the group said it was the staff getting distant with the sites normal members. Others said that wasn't it, but neither of the groups had an explanation as to the why. One person said it was related to MamaD. I don't remember who it was, but I wish we listened to that person more. MamaD was like the link between staff and normal site members. In any case, the person in charge of the group was banned, causing the group to instantly fall apart and stop.

This was the start of a banning episode, where basically all you had to do to get permanently banned was... well, nothing. Some people were banned for real reasons, but most people were banned for either saying one wrong thing, or because Acid was having a fit and saw their name. During the time of banning, Acid said things that made it very clear that we are not supposed to treat the staff there like people, as in you never doubt a single word they say, never question them. A few bannings were specifically for asking questions. A few people who were not banned started avoiding uni3 out of fear. I think it is safe to say at this point that I am under exaggerating what happened, but I also do that with a lot of things. It was a smidgen bit of a chaotic time.

Time passed, and then we changed over to uni4. At uni4, a few of the banned and scared rejoined unifaction, but not under the same screen names they once had. I don't really blame them for this. I don't recall if anything crazy happened during this time, but I don't think so. Over the years, people sort of forgot the crazy mass banning episode where Acid claimed superiority over anyone and everyone. Sometimes Acid acted scary at uni4, but no mass bannings happened. I think people learned to be afraid of Acid after the first time. I don't think anything too bad happened during uni4, but there might be something I've blocked out.

Then uni5 happened. I don't know it's brief history well, since I paid so little attention to uni5. While I do think there were staff who wanted to connect with members, I now think the issue all along may have been Acid himself, not the staff. There were few staff members who were quite friendly, it's just Acid was sort of crazy.

Coda, your humor is quite amusing.

At the start of the latest Uni, Acid/Brint did another mass ban, some of my friends were banned for asking questions or giving their opinion on the new site, (hardly anyone liked the new site and Brint didn't like that they didn't like it). I stopped posting in the forums because of that. I just stuck to UC2 and my Wall/Social page thingy..

That isn't all that surprising, since it wasn't exactly his first nutty mass ban...

I did much the same as you DK... Especially since the notifications for the thread subscriptions didn't work properly so I'd miss out on what was going on more often than not...

Maybe everyone will reunite under a different forum one day. It would be nice to have all the uni members in a site not run by a crazy person that goes ban crazy whenever people disagree too much. This is a good site, but I don't think everyone will go here.

I do feel very pretty here, and this site has many color choices. We loved color choices on uni. I have collected all the different greens here of my favorite hair style here. I will collect all the colors eventually! o-o

Would you like to know the story behind the site that lasted a short time that was made by some uni mods? It's related how two members of the help uni3 off site group saw the situation at that time(myself and another member).

Alright, well it was a long time ago so some details will be missing, like who of the staff started that site. I really have no idea, i can't even remember if Acid was or wasn't involved. That sounds so wrong if one doesn't know that was a persons screen name. Never the less, they were a mod that managed to get a lot of uni3 members to join the website.

The website was a 'spiritual' forum, to put it loosely. They had members list what they could do, or know how to do, then said that any spiritual trait could be taught. This would have been fine if it didn't include things that cannot be taught, like how to become an empath, gain bonds with certain elements to allow pull over the said element, ect... As someone who is a seer(gets visions of different things) and an elemental sensitive(another thing that cannot be taught, as it is an old outdated evolutionary trait that has for the most part been squeezed out, seeing as it is terrible for modern ages, very very terrible.)

To make it worse, they started classes on this website. This wouldn't be bad if not for one issue, anyone not in the classes was immediately looked down upon as someone who knows less. This means students who took one or two classes were encouraged to look down on experts that didn't feel like taking any of the classes and assume that they are not actually experts. All of these things added up, it made the website naturally competitive. Competitive is healthy for a lot of things, but not for something that requires a lot of patience or understanding. It's like approaching meditation by getting loud and aggressive. It gets in the way of progress and makes very little sense to do in the first place. People started arguing, nitpicking, and the website started building up a ton of negative energy. Everyone who was a member and even slightly bit of an empath started avoiding the forum to avoid pain. While not an empath, emotional energy creates elemental energy.

It was a giant mess of negative chaotic and aggressive energy, smelling a bit like embers, ash, like a dry fog that held some form of thick dry humidity. The smell description seems to also have a bit of feel description, but yeah. Being on the site at all made me feel sick, dazed, and gave me a headache. Myself and another person tried to plead with the mods to change things, also explained why they should and how it was currently effecting certain members. We both got ban threats. So, we posted a thread and started going all out, probably because both of us were getting hurt by the forums energy. This meant we didn't have time to be patient and do things through a slow PM process anymore. In the end, we both lost the battle simply because we could not last long enough to finish things.

Less then a week later though, the forum closed up completely, promising to open again in the future. It never did. Me and the other person in the group to try to figure out what was up in uni3, being the two that fought in the other forum, had learned a hard lesson through that spiritual site. If you can, try to do everything site related over PMs, try not to let a single thought leak in the forums. Even one single leak could be translated as one trying to be a trouble maker that needs to be threatened. Now that I look at it with more distance though, I think the real lesson is that it was a big unsavable mess that we should have just given up on. It wasn't a good example to use to help on the approach on how to help uni3 become more active, or how to find the problem.

For some reason sharing that made me feel better o-o

i joined unifaction on uni4. the way i always saw it though.... was that the forum itself was free, and i was free to enjoy and join in on the forum atmosphere.

to be completely honest, i really don't have any real-life money (you should see our credit card debts) so if i bought anything that was a donation item, it was with the site's currency. i was active enough that i always had a crap-ton of auro. in fact, with Brint (that's his actual name as well as his Uni6 handle) taking the site down like that - i lost at the very least 500,000 auro i had in CDs.

but, the sites were free to sign up for and use. i supposed Acid/Tarsupin/Brint could run the sites as he wished, and if i didn't like it, i would always leave. as it was, i liked it enough to stay. any of my drama that got stirred up was my own fault, and the most dramatic it got was me posting a picture on my wall only a few months ago from UK's Being Human from season 3, which aired in 2011, and then having a little discussion on spoilers (i said it wasn't, someone said it was. i think we agreed to disagree.)
