![]() ![]() Heading back to the stables outside of the inn, Gabriel only cast a fleeting glance to the back of his cart before he moved to the front, his expression softening as he greeted his mare. She snorted at him, stomping one foot against the ground. It earned a soft laugh from him. "Yeah. I know. We haven't had this much company in a while, hm?" He patted her neck gently before guiding her, and the wagon, to the back of the stabled. Once satisfied with where they were nestled, he unhooked her and took her to the safety of one of the stalls. "Been a while since we've lost this much, too." The horse, predictably, offered no reply, though she did flick her ears slightly as he spoke. It was more than enough, earning a brighter smile. "Right. Maybe this is the worst one yet. I must look like a wreck, yeah?" He ran his hands back through his messy hair, making a half-hearted attempt at cleaning himself up. Before long, however, he seemed to realize how futile the effort really was. He chuckled at himself and shook his head, locking the mare up and, offering a goodbye to her, headed back to the cart. The damage, he found, wasn't as bad as he had thought it would be. Still much, much more than he would have liked, but... he'd prepared himself for worse than this. It was difficult taking stock of what was where with his re-reorganized goods. He'd have to sort it all again, one of these days. And replace his herbs. And the jugs. And, more than likely, most of his clothes. He sighed, moving as much as he could before he splashed what was left of his water over the back of the wagon and went to scrubbing out as much of the mess as he could. With all of this, the last thing he needed was for the wood to rot as well. A few refilled and redumped pitchers later, Gabriel gave up on his cleaning endeavour. His hands had gotten more cuts and scratches, but he paid it no mind, grabbing up one of his still whole containers and heading back up to their room. Proper magic works with nature and science. It didn't take long for the bread to vanish - followed by another roll, and a bit of cheese. But he wasn't taking anything that was anywhere near his master's plate. That would be rude, and would get him another beating. He was feeling sort of... lightheaded, by the time he was done eating, and a bit sick to his stomach. But the food stayed down, even through his sudden bout of coughing, which just seemed to exacerbate the pain he was in.
He wound up curled up on the floor not more than six minutes later, coughing hard, more blood - although it was considerably brighter than before - trickling from his mouth. Not in as much quantity of course, but still... bleeding inside is NOT helped by moving around as much as he'd been doing, and now it was catching up to him.

The coughing immediately caught Razyn's attention and concern. His own meal forgotten, he knelt by the boy, trying to think of what to do. He wasn't a healer! "Easy does it...easy. Just....just focus on breathing, alright?" the boy asked as he carefully scooped the little form up, carefully carrying him back to the bed and laying him down gently. Damn, where had that healer gotten off to?

![]() ![]() Gabriel hadn't even stepped through the door all the way before he could tell something was wrong. He slipped inside quickly, shutting the door quietly behind himself as he evaluated the situation, and the sudden change in the boy's state. It wasn't until he caught sight of the food that was left that he had any guess as to what happened. He set his jar down near the foot of the bed as he stepped over. "How long has this been going on?" Gabe questioned, reaching out to touch his fingertips to the catboy's neck. Proper magic works with nature and science. The boy's pulse was racing - both from pain and other things. His entire body was trembling just slightly in agony, and his breathing was labored to the point of being a harsh wheeze. The pulse under Gabe's fingers was also skipping and pausing here and there. The boy had moved far too much, and irritated whatever was wrong with his insides.
For his part, Issac was afraid and in pain, so he really couldn't be blamed for what happened when Gabe tried to move his hand anywhere else. He lashed out with his only weapon at the moment, his teeth, sinking them down, and finding the flesh of Gabe's palm, and not letting go. Tears streamed down his face as he realized what he'd done, but he couldn't relax his body past the pain response enough to let go.

![]() ![]() Sucking in a breath, Gabriel bit down on his tongue to keep from making a sound, his face contorting slightly from the sudden pain. And yet, he did his best to restrain his instinct to pull away, not that he would have been able to without hurting the boy further in the first place. He was only thankful that it wasn't too much for him to deal with. He shifted to set his free hand lightly against Issac's chest. "Rayzn," he muttered quietly, making an effort to keep his voice from turning too harsh, "I would really appreciate it if you did something useful right about now." Razyn had to think fast. Okay, he couldn't grab the guy, he was already hurt and that would probably make it worse. Prying him off in the current state he was in would probably get -him- bit, and that wasn't going to happen. So, he decided to try and soothe the boy. By petting his head.
"Um....easy there....you're alright." he said said awkwardly, petting the cat boy. He figured his awkward pauses weren't helping matters much, so he attempted humming a quiet tune. He wasn't used to dealing with biting people....well, not in this context.

Reaction took over his instincts, and he did what most scared cats would do given another target. Turned his head around quickly, and sank his teeth into the next available fleshy part. Razyn's arm. Not his hand, his arm, since he couldn't quite reach the fingers. His bit down harder than he had with Gabe, since there was more to bite down on and into. Blood, this time. And this time not from Issac, other than the stuff that was already in his mouth.
The boy's breathing didn't feel too steady, and there was a quiet growl starting down deep in his throat. Earfur and tailfur stood on end as the tail began to lash. He was NOT comfortable, and the cat part of him was reacting to that.

![]() ![]() "You idiot-" he muttered, inwardly groaning as he shook out his newly released hand. Still, Gabe didn't have time to dwell on it before he settled this hand against the boy's chest as well. His brows furrowed as he tried to focus, looking past the all too obvious growls and wheezing to try and figure out what, exactly, had gone wrong. Guessing was all well and good, when his patients were human and could stand more than the smallest bursts of magic he could manage. This was most definitely not one of those cases. "OW! Bloody he- ow!" Razyn's hand instinctively raised to shove the boy away, but he caughte himself, forcing his arm down before he hit the boy. "Would you kindly....release my arm...?" The questions was forced through clenched teeth, despite his attempt to keep the gruffness out of his voice. See, this is what he got for trying to help; an arm full of teeth and blood starting run.

The boy's mouth relaxed a bit, but he didn't completely let go. His eyes closed as he started to pass out, and he slid to the ground, unconscious. His claws relaxed too, as he had unsheathed them, and his tail flopped to the ground as well.
Issac was out cold, for the count... and still attached to Razyn's arm... although not entirely chomping down. Trying to remove him might cause more damage than leaving him there.

![]() ![]() "Perfect." He shook his head and moved away from the two, feeling no need to help the man free his arm, especially considering it was Razyn's fault to begin with. He grabbed up the modest pitcher of water that had come with the meal before gliding back to the foot of the bed to retrieve the jar there. "Really, just brilliant. All that fuss, ruining everything-" Gabriel narrowed his eyes as he poured a helping of the water into the container, quickly exchanging the pitcher for the small knife at his belt and using it to mix the medicine together. He stepped back beside the bed, briefly looking up at the thief. "And you, you are absolutely no help, you hear me? If I were you-" Extracting the knife, he slipped the blade between his teeth, his words slurring as his attention returned to the catboy. "-I'd stay there, shuddup, 'n start prayin'-" Proper magic works with nature and science. We simply don't understand enough to see the big picture just yet. ![]() ![]()

"Well, what in the bloody hell was I supposed to do?" Razyn hissed, hand moving to hold the underside of his arm. Stupid healer, acting all superior. Who in the hell did he think he was? And damn, his arm hurt. He was sorely tempted to try yanking the kid off of his arm, but he knew better than that. See, this is what happens when you try to be helpful! You get gnawed on and lectured. This night had quickly gone from interesting than....well, less than amusing.

![]() ![]() With a roll of his eyes, he stepped around to Razyn's side. "I swear, no one can ever seem t' keep a level head when pain's involved," he muttered quietly, to himself rather than the man as he set a hand on the elbow of his trapped arm. As he tucked the jar close to his own side, his hand warmed against Razyn's skin. "Now, you hold this thing right where it is, or I will not be fixin' it later." Once he shifted his focus to the thief's pain instead, the very sensation vibrating through his own fingertips the longer they lingered against him, it took Gabriel only a quick burst of well placed magic to take care of what he considered to be the man's main issue. There was a rush of warmth, followed by a loss of feeling, and control, to Razyn's bitten limb. When he pulled away, leaving just the smallest smear of his own blood on the thief's elbow, he knelt and settled his free hand right back onto the younger boy's chest. Razyn looked from Gabe to his arm, careful to hold it in place to keep the boy attached to it still. "Thanks..." he mumbled, holding his now-limp arm steady. "I'll keep it steady..." He peered at the unconcious boy, sighing a little. "Think he'll be okay?" he asked, quietly. "They messed him up pretty bad..."

![]() ![]() He narrowed his eyes, not paying much mind to the man's voice just yet, and offered a nod that was more acknowledgement than anything else. The fact was, Gabriel didn't have a damn clue how he was going to fix this. Any time he'd had to deal with damage quite like this, he wasn't so... limited. Even doing what he thought he had to, there was some risk for the boy. Trouble was, he didn't know how much risk, either. He set his knife aside. "If I could have fixed his pain, I would have. But it's everywhere. And that-" Gabe nodded towards Razyn's arm. "-everywhere makes for one dead little dove." Setting the medicine filled container aside as well, he rubbed his hands together, wincing from the action but taking no other note of it. His own injuries would be easy to fix, when he actually had the time. "Don't know if you've noticed, but that's what we're trying to avoid here," he added, his voice falling to a mumble. When he touched the catboy again, it was with just two fingers, off-center on his chest. The tell-tale golden glow of his magic flared up once more at his fingertips, but in just a matter of seconds, died back down. A quick boost to just where the boy needed it, Gabe hoped, would be enough for now. Proper magic works with nature and science.
