He sighed a little and stopped walking as she moved in front of him. "once... when there was only five guardians of the forest left. We tried reasoning with them, saying they needed to stop killing the heart trees.. the forest wouldn't go anywhere if they just left well enough alone." He didn't go on to explain the rest of the tale, he didnt think h needed to with how the world was now. "I know they aren't all the same but i have little respect left for their kind."

Dalea looked at him, studying him. She sighed and looked at her feet, inches from the ground. She would be looked at oddly now that she thought of it, if she were to go into a city in her clothes with no shoes. She'd be pegged instantly for what she was. Then she looked at Vor and thought he would be too. She thought deeply without moving, then studied him. "I have to admit that I have little respect for them myself, but I've been shocked quite a few times of the generousity of the humans." She flew around him in circles now. "I wonder if I could carry you." She suddenly said randomly.

"theres a few good ones.. I'll agree.. but far too few." He had his own stories with them but he didn't feel like sharing. Though her next question caught him off guard a little as he rolled his eyes a little before moving to walk around her. "I would not advise trying.."

Dalea kept the subject on whether she were strong enough to carry him. She flew beside him with a grin. "Aw, come on. I bet I could. You don't look to heavy and I'm stronger than I look." She was actually alot stronger than she looked, but she wanted him to be surprised.

"No doubt you could... but I'll remind you I can change my weight as well.. I am part tree and i didn't lose that ability.. " He glared a little at her not wanting her to try. "Stop looking at me like that I already said no, I really don't think you want to see my true form when I'm annoyed.. " She had her warning and he was willing to back it up if needed.

Dalea blinked at him. "I have't annoyed you yet? Thats strange. I wasn't trying or anything, but I'd have thought I'd been naturally annoying." She flew in little loops, loving the amount of energy she had now. When she leveled herself with him, she smiled. "Please lighten up. Its not like I'm asking horrible things."

"Eh working on it.. but i think thats fairies in general." he shook his head a little thinking that he was traveling with one and it was one he couldnt get rid of. "I'll lighten up .. when i need to" He shrugged a little "I'm not really that tense to tell the truth, this how I normally talk. You get this way after being alone for so many years." He smirked slightly before going back to his walking, he didn't really mean to be cold or uptight as she put it but it's how he was anymore.

"fun?... what kind of question is that?" it was a bit odd.. though should be a expected question from a fairy. "It use to be my job.. more recently it has been killing those stupid enough to enter the grove without permission .. " He shrugged off her odd look she was giving him. "my kind was created for the simple purpose of protecting the groves and ensuring green life stayed lush on this world..saying we have a idea of fun is a little silly almost." Sure there were a few things over the years Dryads called fun but nothing he had done in quite some time.

Dalea sighed. This guy had been wound way way too tight over the long years of almost complete solidtude. She looked thoughtful, then smiled. "Well, how about....just laying in the sun? Absorbing the warmth and life. I enjoy that, what about you? It makes me feel empowered and protected." She knew it was weird to be sharing such personal feelings with him, he probably thought so too.

Isn't that a general enjoyment.. also seeing as I need that light to live from day to day not sure if I'd call it fun.. heh.." He laughed weakly. Though she seemed unconvinced by his answer. He sighed finally before speaking again. "rivers.. I enjoy being around them though one hasn't flowed in our area for quite some time now."

Dalea rolled her eyes at his answer, then waited for a real one. She smiled at his answer, happy that she got something out of him that wasn't a snide remark or something a little mean. "Rivers, huh? There used to be one there, but the current changed and it went underground. It ran through part of our mound, flooding half of our dwellings. We had to dig out more homes." She thought for a moment, then smiled. "We should find you a river or stream or something."

"Not quite that big of a deal .. besides the ability to relocate is lost to most if not all of my kind. I say most in hopes it's not a lost skill like the others." He sighed heavily. "even if i could move, whats the point when that area would soon fall to the humans as well. They don't follow the old pacts nor do they listen."

Dalea did not like where the conversation was heading. She thought quicly and closed her eyes. She landed and started walking for a moment, sending her energy in to the ground. She was trying to find a large collection of running water. She gasped softly and opened her eyes, shooting high into the air. She came back down after a moment, all smiles. "There is a quaint river to the south. Not very large, but still a river."

He laughed slightly listening to her. "I already said it's hardly a big deal, who knows in another few hundred years a new river might come through the grove." He shrugged. "besides.. if i left for good who would watch the fairies home? Even if I'm currently banished from it there are ways of getting pardons. Just most of them are not pleasant."

Dalea puffed out her cheeks, looking rather cute. "I'm trying to make you have fun, dangit. Now, come with me to the river, or I'll knock you out again and take you there myself." She was exagerating of course, but she wanted him to know that she meant that she wanted him to enjoy himself.
