And yes, I have a girl now. Don't think she'll ever join and I don't expect her to. Alas, she lives about 3 hours away so it pretty much takes an entire weekend to go visit unless it's an emergency.

I'd say bring more provisions and/or have a more permanent shelter...with more warmth. Fire...definitely a good thing.
