The library isn't really an option for me. When I'm not at work, it's closed. I checked project Gutenberg once. Didn't find anything that really appealed to me. I do use paperbackswap.com though, to clear put books I don't want.

I used to read weekly bedtime stories on my Discord account from Project Gutenberg. It's an amazing resource. Edit: If you have a smartphone you might download the Amazon Kindle app. They have a lot of free or cheap books on there. Also if you find yourself spending more than ten bucks a month on books you might consider getting a Kindle Unlimited account. I used to have one and really enjoyed it. Lol. Currently I spend like... ten dollars a year on books. I generally only buy if trading isn't an option. But I hate e-books tbh. I much prefer the feel and smell of actual books. I will grant that e-books are better for travel, though. Not that I travel. Ever.

We just don't have any storage room for books. We have a few vital religious and academic texts that we keep on hand, but we only can fit one bookshelf in our room so we have to be very choosey. My local library is really small and mostly has children's books so I found myself needing to move to an electronic option. I still prefer real books. I will borrow from friends whenever possible but e-books let me have a wider range again.

it's ok, purple. *hugs* i love real books, and i love my library. this year i've bought.... hm. two books come to mind off the top of my head (a Supernatural novel, and a Dune novel... neither of which i've read yet). but mostly, my books come from my county library system, which is awesome. if i do read any parts of War and Peace, it'll be my only ebook. don't really like reading electronically. i blame a musical for wanting to read some of War and Peace, actually....

I need to stop buying books. I have so many and it stresses me out that I have them and don't have the time to read them. And I read slow. I am trying to use speed reading techniques which still allows for proper comprehension. I'm reading Hybrids by Robert J. Sawyer, so my avi is, all of a sudden, totally appropriate for where my mind is right now.

I overall am not fond of electronic reading, but ereaders are great for massive books I don't want to tote around, and for super cheap collections of old work.

one of the on-line sites i found had W&P at 2882 pages! the reason i picked the Gutenberg Project site is that it displays well on my computer and my phone!

Totally gonna try to claim the first available post again... XD And hopefully will do better at reading than I have this year. Might need to lower my goals slightly... Although, if I finish at least 3-4 projects by the end of the month, I should have all of next month to actually read, so I might be able to almost finish my goal. XD
