Well, pretty much any department in a store other than cashier involves lots of walking and lifting and memorizing of stuff. In the bakery there's different positions that you can be trained for (baker, cake decorator, stock) and people look at you funny if you're skinny. =P I'm stock, so I basically clean and keep the sales floor full with cookies and bread and such. But yeah, working in departments is definitely more fun than being stuck behind a register.

• I have a genuine fear of handling peoples money. xD; So that would be perfect for me. Haha. I don't mind running around-- actually, I prefer it. But a lot of the places I've been applying at DON'T have stock positions. Used to work for Borders as stock, and absolutely looooooooooved it.

Yeah, stock is pretty much the bottom of the barrel though, so you're safe in applying for it. People can either do it like a wiz or they completely suck and get fired within a month.
