By the time he was half way done with his shift at the bar, Donnie already had his sleeves rolled up and was quite tired. It was much harder work than someone would think and people could be picky. Luckily no fights really broke out during the first part of the day and that is why Fin gave Donnie that job and not later.

"Yeah, if you head right back there..," Donnie commented as he pointed to a door that led to a small back room that had supplies and food. "Before he left to go to the store or wherever he went, Fin said we can eat 3 normal meals a day and that's it. We have to continue our work,"

Donnie cleaned a glass and put it back on the shelve then took somebodies money as they paid then left. "Hey, Fin should be back soon and then we can go find out more about the professor," He commented to Amelia.

Amelia nodded her head. She didn't much want to get up, but it looked as if he was busy. He just didn't have time for her. She rummaged through the pantry and found some corn bread. It was the quickest and easiest thing to make.
She stepped behind the counter and grabbed a knife, cutting a piece for herself and a piece for Donnie. "You want one?" She looked over to him and smiled. Even if he said no she would insist. She wasn't going to have him no eat just because he needed to work. She would feed him personally if need be.

She sat down and enjoyed her meal, knowing that she wouldn't get much rest after this. She did have two more rooms to do with sheets to wash. And some of those sheets looked really nasty. The corn bread was one of the best she has ever had. She even ate every last crumb. She smiled at Donnie, watching him work made her happy. She had to stop though or they were never going to finish up their jobs. She wiped the crumbs into her hand and threw them away, heading back up stairs to clean up the rooms.

Room number 5 had a customer in it and they didn't want her to disturbed them, so she skipped and went to the next room. The next room was some one's as well, but they were not in at the moment. She took the master key and unlocked the room. It was surprisingly neat compared to the other rooms, that looked like they were just used for sex. It was very quick for her to finish. She just really need to grab the sheets and scrub the floors/ sweep. Once done with that room she tried room number five once more, but they still didn't want her to come. She didn't know what to do so she just left them alone and ask about it later.

Now came the washing of the sheets, though she had no clue as to how to wash them.

Donnie liked that Amelia cared about him eating and he gratefully took the bread. He didn't start to eat it until he was done washing the other glasses and everyone at the pub was seated and happy. He was very happy that he didn't have the night job, but he assumed it would get easier after he got use to the work. That thought had him thinking about how long they would have to be there.
Donnie didn't know.

It was a few hours later when he was finally done and switched the job back off to Fin. Fin was satisfied with their work since it was their first day and they didn't seem to be use to that kind of work.

Donnie then headed upstairs, hoping that Amelia was up there and to change out of his clothes. They would have to find a way to wash their clothes every few days or so. Once in there he began to change.

~~~
Jennie sat tiredly in the wrought iron cell, a few other people in there with her and others in other cells. She wasn't sure where they were, but it was probably the prison in the same town that they had been busted in.
Shit she needed a ciggerette.
It was about a month ago when Jennie had landed in this place. It was very Victorian and not high on technology which didn't help her one bit. What was she thinking when she jumped in? Yeah it was an awesome idea, and what better way to learn about it then BE in it, but how was she suppose to get back? The thing was, she had been hoping to send up in a very technological place that could help her hone her abilities and sciences. Instead, she ended up here.
So, like a smart scientist she was, Jennie went to her best bet in finding a way out-- the Alchemists. She had read about similar people in their own history, and they seemed like her best bet. Truth was, she had learned a lot so far.
Amelia found Donnie walking up the stairs, just has she was about to just grab a bucket and fill it with soapy water to clean the sheets. "Are you done for the day?" She got the bucket and then saw one of those old washing boards. She figured this is what she needed to use to wash the five sheets she had. Once she gathered everything out back, she put all of the the sheets in at once, so they could soak a bit. She figured they would need it to get the stains out. She took a deep breath for her work was mostly done for the day. She walked in and told Fin that the sheets were soaking out back and she would get them once they were back.
She went up to their room and found Donnie already to go. It was her turn to get dressed. She went behind the screen and started to take everything off. She quickly put on the layers of clothing until she got to the corset. She was able to get it up and over her chest before asking Donnie to just tighten as tight as he could. Once the rest of her clothes were on she hung her work clothes over the screen and was ready for the day, to start looking for the professor.
Donnie helped her put her corset back on, and tried to ignore the flashes of memory that came into his mind about the night before like taking it off and her... breasts. Geesh he was trying not to be a perv, but apparently couldn't help it. He couldn't believe she could deal with how tight it was.
Donnie's hands lingered on Amelia longer than was probably necessary before he let them drop and he scratched his head. "I ah... I think she's probably going to be in one of the prisons, or jails around here. I'm not sure if she is still in this town but it would be in our interest to ask at the near by cell holdings. With working and all that, we don't have near as much time to search so it might take a day or two to find her. On the not bright side, I have no idea how we plan to get her out, even if we do find her," Donne commented.
Amelia didn't much notice Donnie's lingering hands, she was much more nervous about him seeing her naked. She was already once the constricting corset was on and her dress pulled up. "Well maybe there will be some type of bail? Who knows, until we go right?" She gave him a weary smile and then grabbed her bag. She knew it looked weird, but she never knew when she was going to need any of the stuff inside. That and she didn't want anyone to go through it and find her technology that doesn't seem to exist here.
She headed down the stairs, to the pub, and asked Fin where the nearest jail/prison was. He gave her directions and she was off. She couldn't wait to find the professor. Maybe she came up with something already, since the real world and the portal don't seem to keep track of time very well and she had a month to do something about it. She also wanted to find the professor for some normalcy. Maybe having the three of them together they could act normal.
It took awhile to walk to the jail, but they had finally made it. Amelia looked to Donnie to do all of the talking to the guards, for Amelia was shy and not good with on the minute lies.
Donnie made a crack lie about having to go in and see if his derelict of an uncle was in there. He was always going out to pubs at night and not coming home for days but this time he was gone much longer and he was scared for his safety and thought his uncle might be inside since that is where he was a few times before. At first the guards were hesitant but finally let them through after being bribed with a bit of their money. Luckily they were working, but they weren't working for money. He would have to steal some more, more than likely.
Once they were in, Donnie kept his eyes peeled for a red head. The place was surprising much larger then it looked on the outside.
Amelia Marie Diederich
The place smelt of rot and decay as most where put in there for a while with no care from the guards of how they looked or if it was clean. Amelia tried not to take deep breathes and made sure to breathe through her mouth, for it was really that horrible.
She looked from cell to cell waiting for some clue, but she wasn't seeing anything at all, no professor or no one that looked like an alchemist, at least not to her. She decided to bring it up with guard, it felt risky to her, but she was unsure of how else to go about it. "Soo I was curious about these so called alchemists that I heard about in a pub. Would you happen to know anything about their where abouts?"
The guard looked at her weird for her way of using words, but ignored them and answered her question. "They are being held here, in the more tougher cells. They seem to be crafty. It wouldn't be the first time they would be able to escape a prison like this. Hence why we gave them harder cells to escape." Amelia let out a breathe she didn't know she was holding in when the guard told them more information. She was relived that guard didn't think anything weird about her question. But she couldn't help but to ask more about them they seemed so close but so far away all at the same time. "Why were they put away exactly?" The guard stared at her for a moment before speaking once more to her. "Murder." He said it with such an emotionless face it scared her to think that her teacher would kill some one. "Oh that is just terrible to think about." Amelia bit her lip and looked away, not wanting to revile anything to the guard.
Keeping her eyes on the floor, she just had to ask. "Could we possible see these horrible people before we find our uncle? I would like to know who could commit such an act." The guard thought long and hard about it, but decided that he had nothing to lose, they were going to die soon anyways. "What would be the harm in it? I would like to rough them up, as well." The guard grew an eerie smile, but did as he said. Amelia and Donnie were brought to see their professor, along with the others. She just hoped her professor wasn't the one who killed the man.
Donnie was surprised about how well Amelia was taking things and going in stride with what was going on. She never seemed like the person before that would lie and make up stories. But really, she wasn't that bad at it and since she was a pretty girl she was even more apt to not get assumed to be lieing. It was actually a good plan.
Donnie smiled slightly. "Yeah I bet a lot of people would want to rough up some murderers like that," he said trying to stay on the side of the guard. It was better to act in cahoots.
He wrinkled his nose slightly as the guard took them even further into the prison. The smell was getting worse and worse. Donnie glanced over at Amelia to see how she was doing.
This was it. Hopefully the Professor was here.
Amelia Marie Diederich
Amelia's nerves were on end as they seemed to get deeper into the prison. The worst people went to this end and the guard didn't even have to tell her that, she could feel it. She kept her head down, staring at the floor, watching her every step, just like the prisoners were doing. In the main parts there was wooting and cheering, but as they ascended into the depths it got eerily quiet. She started to wondered just how far down she was. The guard started to bang his baton against the cells, making the sound echo off the walls, only making Amelia more scared.
He stopped once they reached them.
The cell was dark and very hard to see in. They only saw silhouettes of what should be people. The guard lit up a lantern, which burned Amelia's eyes. It took a moment for her eyes to adjust, but soon the silhouettes started to turn into weary faces. They all seemed drained and they all had this look of defeat stitched into their faces. I changed Amelia's mood, just by the sad looks on their faces. She could no longer look at them as killers, but helpless people that were only trying to do what they thought was right. Amelia looked at Donnie to see if he had changed as well, but she was unsure of how he felt. His emotions were not written on his face as well as these humans' were.
She strained her eyes more to see if she spotted her professor, but she just couldn't do it. How many were here that she couldn't easily see her. "Kellen?" Amelia spoke under her breathe, barely even hearing herself, but she had to speak louder, she had to get her teacher's attention. They needed to know if she was there. "Professfor Kellen!" Her words echoed through out the moist walls, ringing through out her head. What did she just do?
The energy further down the prison was almost stifling. It just felt... bad. It was something that could put a stone feeling in your gut for weeks. It was such a bad place to be and he had a huge feeling half of the people there didn't deserve the harsh, nasty treatment.
Donnie looked into the darkness of the cell in front of them, but couldn't see much. Then he heard Amelia speak.
Then he heard her yell.
It was like a flash bang of surprise. By the look on her face, she surprised herself. She surprised him. And not only that, but then the guard knew that they knew someone there and that was a big problem.
It was a quick reaction of Donnie's, to elbow the guard in the face. He was slightly taller and bigger than him, but he would be slow and he was far from athletic. If anything, he needed to work out and run some. Everything was happening so fast and so unexpectedly. He then grabbed the baton and knocked out the guard.
"We need to hurry. Now,"
Amelia watched Donnie save her yet again in this place. "But... but what about the professor?" Amelia looked down at the guard that was passed out and then looked back into the cell, only hoping that her professor would appear from the darkness. She had to grab the keys, at least. They had to have some way of getting back in. She knelt down and grabbed the guard's keys and looked up at Donnie.
Donnie heard some shuffling far away. He was sure it had to be the other guards or police coming to check the ruckus that they had probably heard. It's not like they had been quiet.
Donnie looked around. He was sure they didn't have much time but he also doubted that the people in this cell were bad. The professor might be back in there some where.
Tossing the keys in the cell, he spoke. "The hotel in the downtown, not too far from here is where we are staying. It's one of the only rooming pubs around here. Meet us there if you are in there," Donnie demanded.
His main priority was keeping them safe, though, and that required them to get out then and hope Kellen was there and would find them soon enough.
Amelia heard them coming too, and grabbed Donnie's hand. Her checks became rosey, but she knew not to worry about that now, they had to leave. She tugged on his hand in the direction of the guards. They just had to distract them long enough to get out.
Donnie naturally pulled ahead of her, leading the way through the rotting prisoners. Her mind was racing around with ideas and plans. She saw the guards darting towards them, when it hit her. She starts to scream, and slow down just a bit. "One of the prisoners knocked out the guard! We just ran as fast as we could!" She knew it would only get them off their backs long enough to get back safely to the pub. She only hoped that they wouldn't come looking for them later. Or if the alchemists would rat them out.
It only took them a few moments to get back to the pub, but when they got there, Amelia could barely breathe. She felt she wasn't getting enough oxygen, taking bigger and bigger breathes until she felt safe to move again. She looked up and found that they were still in the middle of the pub and people were staring, it was almost becoming a familiar feeling to her. Once she was ready, she went to the up stairs to their room and lied down. "Do you think she will show tonight?"
Getting out wasn't too hard for them. The guards were easy to fool right off the bat to where they would have enough time to get away.
Donnie shrugged. "Honestly I don't know. My hopes are high, but they also have to break out of the prison and we don't know if she was in there.," He said running his hand through his bangs. It sucked that they didn't have any clue. All it was, was guesses and hoping.
Amelia's body ached from almost every where and the corset wasn't helping. She thought about asking Donnie to untie her, but decided not to. She knew it would only be embarrassing. She also needed to get use to it. It seemed their only lead was a big empty hole, and she didn't know what came next.
Taking a deep breath from her chest and not her stomach she thought about what to do next. There wasn't much to do here except work or drink.
