Roland stood between Vincent and Jubeii and placed a hand on both of their shoulders and smiled childishly. "You really have a nice view up here you know."

HAYATE

Hayate blinked and nearly fell off his perch in shock. Where'd he...?!

A smooth voice a couple roofs down made him look up.

But...but I could've...could've sworn he'd been...what is this? Hayate backed up several paced and hid behind a torn and dangling awning. This was not a man he could fight.

[Straywolf]

Makoto walked down the alleyway, still playing with the safety on her gun.
Looks like no one's following me. Good. Time to go to the...who's that?

A white-haired man walked down the other end of the alleyway, looking rather irritated.

Hm...I'll take a fall. Makoto walked a few paces towards the white-haired man. She spotted a small pothole in front of her, and tripped on it. She fell onto the ground.

"O-ow!" Let's see if he takes the bait. She flicks off the safety on her handgun. Safety's off.

KYD

He knew the looks of the people who came in and out of the area. His area. This girl...was she even a girl? She looked...new. At least, he'd never seen her before. But then again, he'd never seen most of the scum who loitered around here anyways.

She definitely wasn't from around here.

Kyd stopped a foot in from of the girl's head. There were three options.
1. Kill her.
2. Ignore her
3. Ask who she was.

I suppose it wouldn't hurt to postpone that caffeine a bit longer. "And who the hell are you? I don't need lost cats on my property."

Makoto looked up, and saw the man. Wow. What an asshole.

"I...got lost." She stood up, and put her hands in her pocket. "Do you know where I can get something to eat?"

This guy looks different from those people back there. I should keep my distance.

[Espy]

KYD

"...I'm going to the coffee shop. In the off-chance a girl like you'd not want to get raped, you'll follow someone who knows the ropes. How you even get lost here is beyond me. Doesn't the whole damn fucking place reek of 'DO NOT APPROACH'?"

Kyd sighed through his teeth and vaulted a shorter section of the fence. Would serve the brat right if she tried to follow him through the construction zone and broke her neck. What softie would be idiot enough to run through these areas?

Maybe it was just that, being plain dumb. Well-fed rich kids.

[Straywolf]

Makoto sighed. Keep cool. I could use his rather...irritable attitude against him. She vaulted over the fence and followed the white-haired man.

"I-I'd rather not get...yeah. I'll follow you, I guess."

Makoto followed the man, keeping a three-foot gap between her and the man.
I'll put a few bullets into his leg, and maybe in his hands too.

KYD

He jumped and grabbed the first bar. The floor of the second story consisted of lead pipes and the rare plywood slab. Across the middle of the floor ran a long wall.

Can't pass that, like always. Kyd ran up to it and kicked off backwards, sending himself flying high enough to latch onto what would've been a minor gas pipe. He swung carefully.

Just a bit to the left or right, and that side'd come loose. Halfway in the air, he tucked his legs in and landed on a catwalk on the third story. He took off without glancing down. The space above and below him seemed to have been planned as an elevator shaft. There was nothing, not even netting, and a slight misstep would've cause the common klutz to fall a wicked twenty-five feet to his demise.

Makoto watched the man climb up the building. An acrobat? Geez. What an inconvenience. She sighed, and looked around for a ladder. She walked towards the ladder and climbed up to the second floor.

Ah, screw it. I'm going to shoot him anyways. I might as well just copy what he did. Makoto lifted herself from the ladder, and ran towards a pillar. She ran up the pillar, and kicked off of it. She reached and grabbed an exposed pipe, and dangled over a hole. The pipe began to give away.

Shit! Damn pipe! Makoto shifted her weight, and swung onto a scaffolding three feet away from her. The pipe and several planks of wood fell down to the first floor.

That was close. Never again. I'm just not as agile as Natsura. Makoto walked towards another ladder leaning against the scaffolding, and climbed up to the third floor.

The white-haired man was about ten feet away from Makoto. She took out her handgun from her jacket, and fired two bullets at the man's left leg.

[Moonless Midnight]

Feeling a hand on her shoulder Jubeii turned her head to come face to face with Roland. How he got up there so fast she didn't know but there he was. She was mainly puzzled at how his blood lust disappeared so fast to be replaced by nonchalance. Jubeii hoped the suprise wasn't so evident on her face. "Came back so soon Roland?"

Roland continued to smile as he sat down on a near by air-conditioning unit. "Oh, I'm just here for a moment." He said cheerfully. "You know I'm surprised by how serious you are. Its a welcome change compared to the crazy ones." He nodded happily to himself.

Roland inhaled and then exhaled smoke then look his cigarette from his lips. "Though maybe you are a bit to serious. You like like to play pranks but when actually interacting with someone you get all ridged. You didn't even notice my own prank and to top that off you didn't even realize you were talking to a mirage." He placed the cigarette back between his lips and smiled. "Though it was kinda funny watching you talk to yourself so I guess I understand why you find it so funny."

Gun shots rang in Roland's ears. He stood up and brushed the back of his pants off and sighed. "hmm... Well it seems I might have to let you two go for now. Gun shots usually means its a priority to investigate." He walked over to the service ladder and hopped on to it and slid down to the ground. Roland began walking in a more hastened pace and waved as he left towards the source of the gun shots.

"This really is a bad day..." He grumbled.

Vincent blinked some with the hand on his shoulder as he looked over to Roland then moved his gaze over to where the gunfire was heard. "This day is getting a little more interesting." he said some his head tilting back. "I wonder if it's with that women and Kyd sometimes I feel like he is nothing more then trouble at times. . . " his arms crossing across his chest, watching Roland leave then waved a little. Moving his gaze to Jubeii, "What do you think it is?"

[Moonless Midnight]

Jubeii just watched as Roland left. Some of what he said was true; she was a bit rigid when interacting with others but she couldn't help it. Part of it was because she had always been a little shy and the other reason...well her past experiences weren't all that great.

Jubeii turned towards Vincent. " Am I too rigid around others? And as for the shots... I think it's the roudy Kyd kicking up a fuss again".

Maki stopped when she heard the shots and instinctively ducked for cover. "Who the hell is firing off a gun in this neighborhood?" she asked irritably to the wind.

She was still somewhat wound up from the near-confrontation with that cop, so she decided to go check it out. From the direction of the sound and from which several people were running, it had obviously come from the old abandoned construction site. She sauntered over there calmly and picked out a nice spot to hide where she could watch the action.

"Well now, who's that playing with Kyd? This should get interesting... maybe I can let off some steam if he leaves anything," she mused as she watched.

KYD

He'd heard the pipe clatter far below him, and the snapping of the dry wood. That called for the automatic assumption that the girl was in slight shock.

Instead, shock had numbed his own mind as he stumbled, confused. The hell isn't my leg working right?! And then he fell.

Past the floor. Paralysis loosened its control on him.

Five feet. He tried to grab onto a jutting bit of PVC. Missed. He flailed around and by chance kicked plywood. Propelled himself a bit forward a bit...

His arm was nearly yanked out of its socket as his feet dangled some sixteen feet off the ground. He could let go.

That damned leg won't support me. And then he got over the shock. Not a good thing.

Shit. Fucking shit. It wasn't blindingly painful yet, but Kyd knew it'd get worse. He glanced up at where that fucking girl was just standing there. The hell's with her?! Police? Skull Hunter?! How the hell...?! Without much thought, he grabbed a syringe from his rope belt and threw it as hard as he could at his attacker.

[Straywolf]

The white-haired man fell down. Some pieces of wood crashed and clattered on the bottom floor. Makoto carefully walked towards the man. Careful...I don't want to end up like him.

From the corner of her eye, Makoto saw something fly at her. She jumped back and avoided the projectile. The projectile fell in front of her. What the hell...? She crouched over the item, and picked it up. A syringe? Makoto leaned over the edge to look at her target.

She takes aim at the dangling man's arm. "A syringe? Is that all you can do, kid?"
