Good question. I'd be most inclined to merge the prizes and split them, so in your case 4k each. But with the possibility of having 4 or more people tied for top prize, it might make more sense as a long-standing rule to offer it in chronological order.

Well, it is darker all 'round, but I'm not exactly sure what you mean by the pixels not looking the same. The pixels are the same shape and the shading is all in the same places, it's just a different coloring.
