I'm going to say Pekingese because Pomeranian has already been guessed.

Can we see the full picture of the Xolo? I've never seen one with mottled skin.

They're both Welsh Tiva, as far as I know. I think you mean the Pembroke (stubby tail) over Cardigan (long tail) ;).

Pembroke's get the distinction in my head cause stubby. Cardigan's I just call Welsh Corgis. But my brain is weird.

Ah. Gotcha. Just a head's up though, they are both "Welsh" corgis (by full name). Things could get confusing!

EDIT: WARNING this poster is dog fancier and gets nit picky about potentially little things.

;)

Quiet Don't they crop Corgi's tails? Like isn't it really rare for them to actually be born without a tail?

I'll guess Akita for the next one.

I though they were naturally stubby, as that was a feature when they were both the same breed, but apparently it's all three, with some being born with no tail, a stubby or short tail, and some getting docked so they match the others. Looking around I don't see a lot said about how rare any of the above might be.

Quiet I totally want a corgi with a stubby tail.
I'm just worried they would dock it and claim that they were born that way. When I was researching it about a year ago I read that it is common for breeders to do that, just to keep them up to the breed's standard/sell them as if they were naturally born that way.
I would definitely want to rescue one, too.
They're so cute ;u;

I don't get why people like to crop Pit Bull's ears like....it doesn't even look good :x

We're all mad here.
There are various reasons. Stubby tails are common in breeds from the UK if they were working animals, as it was a sign that the dog was not taxable, or something like that. Since Corgis are herding, like Old English Sheepdogs, they would have historically had tails docked. Not sure why the Cardigan had long but I hadn't looked.

Modifying ears has a history as well, for various reasons from looking fiercer, to keeping ears out of the way for hunting or fighting dogs that might get them torn off, to removing them all together for various reasons, like both of the above.

...And I would guess a Chow if not the Peke, if we can keep guessing.

Quiet Ahhhhh, yeah, you're right.
I remember reading stuff about that -- just managed to completely forget, lol.

It just feels kind of outdated now, is all.

It is, hence England and I expect a lot of Europe doesn't do that anymore. Fang in Harry Potter you can tell is an English dog (or European one) because he still has his normal ears and tail. Neapolitan Mastiffs here still have the rosebud ears and docked tails, as far as I know. Haven't looked at the standard in a while.
