Jester: Weeeeellll, so my cape is less of a traditional cape/cloak style and more elegant fantasy style. As in...it's some chains and scalemail pauldrons with a rectangle of chiffon attached.
As far as regular cloaks go...I've never made one, so the only real tips I'd have would be to take your time and to make sure you have the right needle type for the fabric you're working with.

Gotta shorten my chains and maybe see about pinning the pauldrons to my shirt if that doesn't fix the slipping issue.

Have officially received confirmation that costumes are a go for work tomorrow. Gotta haul ass on finishing everything. And try some make-up tonight, though if I can't figure it out (because I literally never wear makeup so I don't know what I'm doing tbh), I'll probably skip it for the costume.

Jester, I've lived in three apartments in my adult years. I can remember two of them, and they both followed the pattern. THIS one is supposed to be a luxury building!

Crown stabilizing...not gonna happen but as long as I don't move too fast, it'll be fine
Capey drape...made! just have to remember to re-pin the pauldrons in the morning for extra stability

Shoulder spider...still unsure how to attach. possibly a sort of chain "leash" that connects to the scalemail pauldrons?

Might be Halloween ready for work tomorrow despite my procrastinating! Though I do still need to eat dinner...lol

Update: Not as many spiders as I wanted (they're kinda hard to see in the pic, but are on the lace sleeves), but otherwise, this is my current favorite/best costume.

Ignore my frizzy hair...I have no control over it. Ever.

I wanted to get my costume done for tomorrow (when I have a D&D game I run), but the COVID booster I got the other day is still kicking my ass, so I don't know if I'll be able to finish the blouse in time or not.

~ Kaderin Sounds like a pretty cool cloak. That cloak is pretty awesome. Turned out well. As for the spider on shoulder maybe ether earth magnets or possibly elastic or as you said some kind of tie. Mine isn't just a straight rectangle but has points at the end. Thanks. Already brought the needle so I'm pretty good on that end.

Maybe fabric or some other kind of glue.

Costume turned out nice.

Thanks everyone! There were definitely a few things I could have done differently/better, but for a semi-rushed costume, I'm pretty impressed myself. Now to finish a little pirate skirt for Derpy after work and I can start planning for next year. Lol

Nah. Actually, I have shoe art to do for a coworker and plushies to make that were put off for a bit longer than I planned, so I can work on those now.
