I've tried that before. It was messy. So, do you make your buttercream from scratch?

I am going to be trying to. I have before but not lately.

It's not like it's hard to make. It's just butter and powdered sugar.

Yeah but this calls for homemade whipped cream frosting.

Ooh, what do you use for that? I use heavy cream, but I also use a little brown sugar and maple syrup. It gives it a nice nutty flavor. You have to use real maple syrup, though. Not that thick corn syrup stuff.

it is vanilla but i have made carmel flavored ones before by whipping it in.

Do you use extract or the actual bean? I've been meaning to make some vanilla sugar.

i use extract mostly, it is hard to find vanilla beans up here.
