Sun tea? How do you make sun tea?

The way my family does sun tea is just taking whatever tea bags we want and put it in a clear pitcher in the sun to steep, then add sugar as desired.

There's some specific mix that my dad likes that we use.
I hate it. Even with loads of sugar it's super bitter.

Usually tea turns bitter when it is steeped too long or left on too high a heat.
