i don't think anyone really knows what you have to do in the event yet

Well, it depends on the event, really.
Taskal's war involved battling for feathers for rarer event items,
and posting for swords for less rare event items.
this one might be similar or different.

You chose what you wanted to do, and certain things beat certain things.
