Oh my, the original Perfection, I remember playing that when I was young. I was so terrible at it too, so bad at remembering where the shapes were located on the board ><

We're all mad here.
I'm wary about playing Twister. I'm small and bendy enough to reach most things but it also means that when someone falls down I usualy sustain some form of damage. Not so fun.

I've played Blockus a few times. My brother is a board game nut and has almost everything under the sun, except the stuff like Monopoly, Sorry, Parcheezie, etc. Those generally come off as too simple around our place. Much more fun when you have tiles to flip and rolling rock markers to move around. Heh. Labyrinth we have and I enjoyed it even though I've only played it once.

Labyrinth xD The first time I tried that I used my fingers to move the board rather than the dials on the side ^^; That was a lot of fun though :3
I've tried Twister but I'm not very flexible, but it was only with three total I think...probably wasn't as fun as it could be :P

Haven't played Snakes and Ladders in like... FOREVER!!! I'm kinda craving it now...

And Ludo is really simple to learn, one of the first games I played in my life =] I can't really explain it but its a simple kind of "make it to the end" game

Parcheezi used to be one of my favourites, until I figured out Sorry. Haven't played either in eons though, and I always had the most horrible luck with Snakes and Ladders (I've seen some in tins still called Chutes and Ladders but Snakes is most common where I am).

My copy of MouseTrap never worked properly. Took it back. I still remember some of the theme song along with that for Grape Escape. My favourite game -and the one I'm sure mom most hated- when I was really young was Hungy Hungry Hippos. What wasn't to love about that game? Put marbles in the middle, smash game as fast as you can. Great fun for kids!

Haha, I have a friend who'd love this thread, simply for bringing up the topic. I don't play board games much, we have probably ten or under, but I just don't get to them. I have been wanting to play a good row of Monopoly though, because I never understood it when I was younger and so never played. I'm ready now, so bring it. xD I still enjoy Battleship, Mancala, Life, Scrabble (not on the extreme level like some folks though).

I personally have mastered a variation of Risk made by my family called Riskaan. It can be played using any board with clearly marked borders and here's how it works:
-Setting up the game, each person gets 5 units which may be placed on any space on the board. One unit is to be placed at a time and players place units in a sequential clockwise order. (the blank spaces left will be explained later.
-on each turn, players receive troops the same way units are received in Risk (3 spaces per unit received) and players include the bonus from continents.
-there is a occupy phase in which adjacent and empty spaces may be occupied by troops.
-there is a attack phase which occurs only after the occupy phase and works in basic Risk principle (which may be varied for the convenience of all of the players before the game begins)
-there is a reinforcement phase after the attack phase which works like the original reinforcement phase in Risk except that territories may be completely evacuated of troops. This movement is called "unoccupying" and only can occur during the reinforcement phase.
-Players would also have to note that "unoccupied" spaces cannot be attacked and can only be occupied during their occupy phase.

So yeah, it's a different game.
