Seriously, grab yourself some scrap fabric, find an easy project to get you started and try. It's always exciting to be able to create things yourself.

There's also a free machine sewing class at Instructables, if you still lack the basics.

When I get a few smaller projects outta the way, I'm gonna work on the dress I started almost two years ago. I need to adjust the top, and finish the collar...
