Really?? They don't sell the 3ds anymore??? That's...really surprising. I mean, it's the standard version of the console. The 2ds is for little kids who can't be trusted with 3d or a hinge, and the XL is...well, huge. That's so weird.

Yeah, they don't sell the standard size of 3DSes anymore. The only problem with the 2DS being flat is if it falls down on the screens, it's over. Plus they're huge, you have to hold it or carry a large bag with you.
Surprisingly the 3DS XL I have fits in my back pocket and the edges are softer but I still want the smaller size. I don't need huge screens. :< And what I mean by the edges are softer, if I played my 3DS for too long it used to hurt my palms, the edges were hard to me. But the XL has softer edges so it doesn't hurt my hands. I ALSO WANT THE REPLACEABLE BACK PLATES THAT ONLY COME ON THE STANDARD SIZE. D:< Broken Spirit

Huh. I have a friend who just got one, wonder where? Well, maybe he got a refurbished one or something. Yeah, I'm sticking with my small size. If they want me to upgrade they're gonna have to introduce the regular size in the US. And I want the plates too!!!

You can likely buy the standard size 3DSes if it's a used system or it's a refurb. What I meant was they're not making anymore standard sizes, it's all XLs, most places don't stock the standard-size anymore.
I actually bought the special Majora's Mask new 3DS XL but I haven't opened it yet. I'm still holding out too. If enough time passes, I may just sell it since it'll be considered a collector's item. But if decent games (besides Xenoblade Chronicles) start coming out, I'm gonna open it. Broken Spirit

Having finally gotten a New 3DS for myself, I do have to say that the head detection makes a HUGE difference for 3D play.
You can turn the dynamic brightness off, IIRC. Games by Coda (updated 4/15/2024 - New game: Call of Aether)

Appalachia

It's definitely on my 'to buy list'. Part of me feels like it's a waste of money (you already have a 3DS Appalachia, just wait until the next upgrade) but the other (bigger) part of me looks at the new features and places another few dollars in the video game jar.

I'm with Coda, the tracking is so much better and with larger games, it does run a lot quicker.
It always took a while on my old 3ds to close games I had running up or just switch to the home menu real quick to check the time. The new 3ds does it almost instantly and hey, it can read amiibos now so that's always cool ⇠Sergeant Pup⇢
