I don't often wear hats but since I am thinking of nearly shaving my head I may want something to keep me warm during the snowocalypse.
I need to buy the yarn for the pattern, but I don't know much about yarn. Answer my riddle to earn a prize!
You'll always feel it, but can never see it. It's strong but shatters easily. You can give it away but never hold it. What is it? Pm me the answer, no cheating please!

you could use Supersaver.... or another weight 4 yarn that's not soft and floppy - in addition to not using I Love this yarn, don't use Red Heart Soft, Red Heart With Love, or Caron's simply soft.
if you have a Michael's near you, you could use Impeccable as well as Supersaver. you could also use Vanna's Choice as well. :)

The nearest Michaels is a mere 176 miles away according to Google Maps. XD
I'll probably be ordering it online... Answer my riddle to earn a prize!

you don't have to go to michaels - AC Moore, JoAnn's, and walmart all have RHSS yarn

I don't know what an AC Moore is, but we have a Walmart about 50 miles away so that will probably be where I go. Unless this project gets put off until January. We have to go to Denver in January so I could hit up the Michaels then.
Thank you for your help. <3 Answer my riddle to earn a prize!

AC Moore is also a craft store. they're based out here, in NJ, with only about 140 stores. my michael's is right next to one. as of now, they're our competitors.... but at sometime in the unspecified future, they're closing all their stores, but some will be reopening as a michael's. i'm laughing my ass off at that. XD
hopefully you'll get your yarn! :)

If you aren't aware, rub the yarn you're thinking of against your cheek. If you don't like how it feels, don't get it
As try mentioned, some brands are just Not Good for anything you'll be in contact with Too bad you won't be at the one in Cheektowaga, I'd send you to mom

I usually buy yarn by looking at the skein, getting grabby hands, and then ending up at home all "why the f... did I buy this?"
Only recommendable if you have some leftover money you want to prevent from going into other bad habits.

What's funny is I have spun yarn several times, just never really got into crocheting or knitting. I was learning nalbinding a while back but you have to use real wool for.that to work, so my buying parameters were really specific. The only thing I have ever really bought a lot of yarn for was tails and even then only fiber an color really mattered. XD
It would have never occured to me to rub it on my cheek Answer my riddle to earn a prize!

Seriously though, what do you even make with these?
not to mention my earlier purchases I usually only got a single skein of everything, because beginner logic (one skein oughta be enough for a smaller project like a hat, scarf or mittens, right?) Why do you need to use pure wool for nalbinding? It's on my "to try" list since forever, and actually I was thinking to start with some spare cheap scrap acrylic until I get the hang of it (since someone once mentioned you can't unravel it as easy as knitting when you make a mistake). Will that not work, or is it more a historical accuracy thing?

You could make a very ugly and useless sweater out of that yarn..
You need wool for nalbinding because it is worked with short lengths of yarn and you have to be able to splice it together. Tying doesn't really work because the knot has to go through the loops every time and it snags a lot. Acrylic won't stick to itself and splice together seamlessly like wool does. You could maybe use a wool blend, bit it would suck to put all tat time in only to have the item fall apart because the splice didn't stay together. Answer my riddle to earn a prize!
