Friends of mine make gummy candy infused with Vodka all the time. They use gummy berry things.

I don't see how not being of age stops someone from holding a drink. If it were, there wouldn't be need for ID checks. I do wonder how many Americans get it in their heads to hop the border on their 18 and 19th birthdays. Out west anyway. Some provinces out east are still 21 I think. I guess that would be either border since I'm not sure what the age in Mexico is.

I rarely drink because I'm not fond of the sensation of alcohol really. There are maybe 2 beers I will drink and that's rare. I tend to get sleepy, or really, really mellow. And apparently I slur a bit. Found that out when I was having mixed drinks and belatedly realized that I was the only one at the gin bottle which was 1/4 empty. I'm a lightweight. Still end up sleep though.

The age in Mexico is 16 I think....may be 18, but they are definitely less strict on it down in Mexico.

And jolly rancher vodka and skittles vodka is good from what I've heard (candies infused into normal vodka).

My understanding is that most of Europe has low drinking age or no age limits, because (at least before American culture started taking over international media) they don't generally have the cultural concept of getting drunk for fun. Then again, American party culture has brought that problem to Europe recently from what I hear, so... blah.

Edit: Hard candies and Skittles work well for infusions, from what I've heard. Gummy candy not so much; I guess the gelatin repolymerizes in solution and you just get a bigger (now-alcoholic) gummy.

Not sure which provinces out east you're referring to, Quiet, but Ontario's drinking age is at 19 and I know Québec's is 18. :3

Not sure what Manitoba or Saskatchewan is, but Nexy and Pinkie live there so ask them. >w>

And I don't know about Alberta, the Atlantic provinces or the Territories at all. XP

Pinkie's not a writer. >w> Bels isn't Canadian. And neither is Suze. (Though technically he's an administrator if we're going by colour.) >w>

I think my case of tripping-over-the-shoe-pile on my way to the bathroom yesterday night might've been from alcohol uncoordinated-ness. I actually was planning on only having a max of two Mike's yesterday; that goal didn't last long. My friend had the equivalent of nine drinks...and it was his first time seriously drinking (like me)...

"...Gengar, I can smell the alcohol on your breath." (Yes, his nickname is Gengar. Long story.)
"Oh. Oh SHIT. Seriously? Wait, Espy, are you serious?"
"...Yes. I don't think you want to go back to Schlag right now." (That's his dorm.)
"...Oh fuck. I'm not that drunk, am I? ...Anyways, can I give you a hug?"
"...Yes, you're drunk. Drunkenness confirmed."

Oh wow.....you know I can honestly say I've never had that experience. I have a high tolerance for alcohol, and I've only come close to it once.

Oops, I may have meant Atlantic provinces then, Ari. It's all east to me! I think one or two of them it's 21 but that may have changed. In Alberta it's 18, out here in BC it's 19.

Yeah, the binge drinking that goes on out here isn't as common in Europe, but also in Europe people don't fuss over someone having a drink over lunch, while here that might get you sent home from your job.

Given my size, I can't match any of my friends in terms of holding my drinks. Proportionally, I'm not sure. Yesterday was my first time actually drinking, and I didn't want to make my RA suspicious.

Hooray for quad living!

I was in third year when I went to uni so I could apply for living in the Towers which was set up in quads (misnomer. There were six rooms per common area). We had RA's but it was mostly don't do stupid things like set off fireworks from your common room balcony (those were the guys in the tower across from us). Booze didn't matter as long as you didn't harass other people and kept to the quiet hours labeled.

I ended up Googling the subject cause I was curious. >w> Found out that it's only Québec, Manitoba and Alberta whose drinking ages are 18. All other provinces and territories are at 19. :3

Europeans are so chill. They drink when they want, but at the same time don't get too drunk and they seem to have fairly high tolerances. >w>
