Since the event has not ended yet, I will allow another 48 hours, as the closing was rather abrupt =)

Alti'ui Lord

I would like to thank you all for stepping forward, for offering to serve the cause. It has, truly, been difficult to reach a decision. However, a decision has been reached, and I would like to congratulate Jahni the Alti'ui (Quiet_Man_Cometh) for being chosen as the new figure of inspiration for our people. I know that she will not let us down.

Thank you all, again, it has been, and shall ever remain, an honor.

Unique items: (General colour scheme: natural shades of brown, greens dark red, gold).
1.Lion's Head Buckler. A small, wooden, round-ish buckler in the shape of a lion's head (or whatever passes for a lion on Karin). The face is carved in bas-relief.
2.Lance. All wooden except for the sharp end of the lance which resembles a leaf shape with bladed sides. Feathers that match her wings dangle from the handle of the lance while the lower half towards the handle is wrapped with green ribbon.
3.Tribal Patterned belt. Relatively wide and unadorned except for a tribal pattern around it. Colour of the pattern is green like the ribbons on her lance, with the belt itself being a natural shade of brown.
4.Headdress. Same natural brown as the belt for the part wrapped around her head. Short strings with shades of green and brown beads hang from the band around her head, but not above her eyes. A lion's head clasp sits at the front over her forehead, resembling an Egyptian headband.
5.Toga. Single strap over one shoulder (the shoulder of the arm that has the buckler) resembling bundled fabric. Several flowing hems layer around the bottom, just above her knees. Gold-ish in colour. Small beaded band holds the fabric of the “strap” together.

Jahni is a young Alti'ui warrior and a child prodigy when it comes to weapons and fighting. Prior to the conflict on Quesaria she was almost always in training and mastered numerous weapons and fighting styles particular to her race. Her favourite weapon is the short lance and shield, though she is always on the look out for new styles or weapons that might bring her a new challenge. Despite her appearance of maturity, especially in battle, Jahni is still very much a young girl and has had little experience with the world outside the Alti'ui community.

Spending all her time in training, Jahni hasn't given much thought at all to what has been happening on the rest of Kalin, or anywhere outside of the lands of her people. She has no opinion at all about the technology of the humans, largely from never having had much to do with it and is more or less content to adopt the same manner of mistrust the rest of the Alti'ui apply to technology on Kalin. She puts more effort and thought into her training than anything else, as much for her own heart and enjoyment as to keep up her skills and pursue perfection. Besides weapons play, Jahni's other love is music and she thoroughly enjoys any and all manner of singing and is delighted by bards, especially those that can bring lively tales of epic heroes and battle. Prior to leaving for Quesaria to fight she entertained an infatuation with an Alti'ui bard named Lukan. She delighted in watching him perform but did not manage to work up the courage to speak much with him beyond basic pleasantries. Now her focus is entirely on the battle at hand.

Young by the standards of the Alti'ui, Jahni entered the fight on Quesaria out of a belief that the cause of freeing the Ascent Arco from their position as slaves to the Athiyk was both just and important. An idealist to a fault, Jahni believes that there can be no wrong done when the cause is just and she looks up strongly to Dyten for his role in leading the other Alti'ui into battle to help the Ascent Arco. Jahni does not have a personal connection or reason behind her wish to fight on Quesaria, having lived a life largely sheltered from politics or intrigue. She is acting only on her inner belief that she's doing something that needs to be done and that she is in a position to do it. The Ascent Arco need to fight for their freedom and Jahni can fight.

Jahni joined the fight for freedom out of a determination to do what she believes was right, and freeing the Arco falls solidly in that category. She believes strongly in a just, happy and united world that is free of evil and manipulative people. Though an expert in weaponry, she has never fought in real battle before and hasn't given much thought to the possibility of there being people involved who may not fall on the side of good or evil. She sees the battlefield in shades of black and white, with those who wield weapons as being either on the side of good or the side of evil. Not being experienced with warfare beyond combat, she thinks little about spies or about those who may find ways to aid or fight the cause without weapons. She never fights with an unarmed opponent and the idea of fighting anything other than a practice dummy without having a just reason is foreign to her.

Because of her youth and idealism, Jahni looks up to those who she feels are just and good people who fight for good causes of their own. She admires Ryuko for his efforts to free his race and she adores Dyten to the point of hero worship for choosing to help the Ascent Arco even though the Alti'ui live on another planet entirely. She does not seek direct recognition from Dyten for her contribution to the fight, believing that fighting for a just cause *should* be reward enough, but part of her young heart can't help but feel immeasurable joy when asked for her opinion on matters of battle or when fighting alongside her leader.

Jahni is young with the appearance of still being an adolescent. Her hair is a dark red and she has bright, green eyes and her skin is tanned from constantly training outdoors in all weather. She wears flowing clothes that she can easily move in, preferring a single strapped garments such as short togas rather than garments with two straps so that her lance arm is free from any potential snags or hang-ups. She wears a headdress to hold her hair back and a belt keeps her tunic in place. A small wooden buckler is strapped to her arm leaving both hands free to use her lance. On her feet she wears closed toed sandals or short boots.
