He thought maggie got an abortion so it was "taken care of" like it never happened. It's not something you REALLY want to tell your 17 year old girlfriend until the time is right or it is brought up. Somethings are just better off not being discussed between a couple.

Which brings it to when Aria and her mom were walking down the street talking and saying that her and Aria's dad didn't know a lot about eachother and not everything needed to be shared. Thus having Aria feel like shit for forcing Ezra to talk about something he didn't have to tell her. o;
