Yes. There's a single soul animating all of them. Incomprehensible, it's so powerful that if it wasn't split into so many bodies he probably wouldn't even notice it.

...I'm not really concerned about her entrance making perfect sense, since the alternative would have you waiting like a year for us to get back to civilization. If you can think of something that sort-of makes sense, go for it.

Alternatively, you can assume you were part of the group already and just didn't have reason to stand out until now. It's already established that the group is bigger than the 5 player characters it started with.
