Ari, keep in mind, if you go with a Servant of Sheol, what I said above would apply to your character to.

Also, we've "leveled up" several times since the beginning, so you're allowed to make a more powerful/better-equipped character than the rules suggest, if you want to.

I still need to get that summary...

Right, here's the summary, freshly updated.

We began the story in New Corinth (which was actually built on the ruins biblical Corinth) a fairly well-fortified town of about 5000 people. We all more or less stumbled into each other in the street, or, rather, got into an escalating confrontation with each other as each new person happened down that particular alley...

Said confrontation resulted in the local Saint trying to arrest us, promptly getting his arm blown off by Lev's shotgun, and us escaping, only for a horde a Dybbuk (zombies) led by a Rephaim to descend on the city. So, we had to escape the city and ended up in an old warehouse where we waited out the invasion. Between the Saint and the local military, the Dybbuk were killed, but the Saint died fighting the Rephaim, who retreated due to its injuries.

We afterward returned to the city and visited the local AA armory, who, in exchange for both our assistance during the battle and for getting our troublesome selves out of the city, loaded us up with gear and lent us an APC to travel in.

We first stopped at the site of the Saint's battle to retrieve his two Wrath Swords. When we got there, Lev immediately started feasting on the Saint's corpse, and then a swarm of Dybbuk-possessed crows attacked us. We drove them off with of those exorcism grenades and escaped.

After that, we headed to Thermopylae, meaning to pass north. However, the pass was inhabited by a group of armed bandits, led by a Nephilim named Kadeja. Upon meeting with us, Kasdeja psychically commanded all his men to kill themselves and insisted on traveling with us, demanding that we take him to Eden. Also nearby, we met Dara, while at the same time Rue and Jean left the group, Jean taking the Swords with her.

Next, we came to the ruins of Phillipi, where we met a deranged priest who had crucified hundreds of Dybbuk and was performing experiments on them. We also met Innon, a soul who had escaped from Sheol, on one of the crosses. Kasdeja eventually ripped out the priest's heart, but the priest kept himself alive through his Theurgy and began fighting us. Eventually, Lev/Na'lsa reached a new level of demonic evolution and began to consume the priest's soul. Innon ended the fight once he found his Perdition Flamethrower, killing the priest, and nearly killing Na'lsa. Sadly, Innon did not join the party. (player dropped out of the game)

So, after that, we crossed out into the Aegean and came to Thasos (apparently APCs can traverse water...) On the isle, we've found a strange cult who worships Metatron the Synthronos, the greatest of the angels. There, we met the hybrid creature Asasiah, an experimental weapon created by Metatron combining the souls of the Archangel Uriel and the Demon Prince Amaymon into a single human form. She is uncontrollable and unpredictable, but when a massive psychic tremor rocks the island, she goes with the group to investigate.

Inside the ruins of an ancient Basilica, we found the body of Kasdeja devastated, his skull split open by a massive psychic assault. In the center of ruined church is an Emim, a wraith from Sheol, and an incredibly powerful one at that: Cain, the First Murderer.

A terrible battle ensures in which Michael is killed during the psychic storm that Cain summons, hurling chunks of broken marble about in a cyclone. Eventually, Asasiah allows Amaymon to control her and summons the demon Ashmodai to distract Cain. Cain slaughters Ashmodai, but is left vulnerable to an assault from Na'lsa, who somehow binds his unholy flesh to the spirit and renders him corporeal.

What ensures can only be described as a feast, as Na'lsa, Asasiah, and Shealtiel proceed to devour the wraith, "flesh" and soul. Afterward, Na'lsa is reincarnated as a chimeric version of Lev, Asasiah falls into some kind of coma, and Shealtiel has disappeared, his body reduced to dust by the force of absorbing Cain's soul. No one knows what has become of him.

So, traumatized by the violence and vileness of what they've just encountered, the group gets back to the APC and leaves the island, setting across the Aegean Sea to the coast of Anatolia to finally arrive in the relative safety of the Seven Churches.

For character relationships and such as of right now, basically:

Feenai can't even digest what she's been through yet, she's just going along in kind of a state of shell shock.

Dante hates Na'lsa and they've fought numerous times already. He's protective of Feenai and grudgingly trusts Shealtiel.

Na'lsa is, as mentioned, quite unhinged. he respects Shealtiel the most for his knowledge of the other worlds. He sees Dante as weak, and considers the others part of his "flock".

Shealtiel is sort of the Gandalf of the group, though if Gandalf was a crotchety, condescending, nihilistic grouch. He finds Na'lsa fascinating, pities Feenai, respects Michael, and thinks Dante has more potential than he gives himself credit for and tries to bring that out in him (usually through belittling him... but he means well!) Shealtiel also values his life very little, being so intimately connected to Sheol. He's very willing to risk his life to save the others when it comes down to it, and can be downright reckless.

Dara is rather enigmatic, both due to her nature/personality, but also because she hasn't been with the group long. She hasn't formed any close ties to any of the group yet, and is very much a drifter.

And... I believe that's it for now. Those are all the active characters. As you can see, Na'lsa is sort of the driving force behind the group, we're all kind of swept up in his madness for various reasons, though it's also the convenience of safety in numbers, too.

I'll -ah- read that later.

Espy, "Na'lsa bullets" was going to my attempt to fight Cain but Dara didn't get there fast enough. She's only got her rifle going for attack power (but I jacked Michael's artificer pistol thing. Let's see what happens when someone not trained tries to use it) so I figured she's try one shot, then, seeing as Na'lsa had small bits of himself here and there, was going to shove some bone bits into the gun and use those. Probably just as well. I'm sure the rifle wouldn't have like it any.

Not sure what to do with Dara in terms of powering up. She's supposed to be reasonably normal, angelic weirdness aside. Bigger gun?

There are, certainly, "bigger guns" available in Thyat'ria. :P

Hm, new characters gives me a reason to draw of them...again. On a maybe-related note, what animals best symbolize our characters?

There's no hard and fast rule. Asasiah was crazy powerful when she joined, possibly too powerful, but I have no shortage of horrible creatures to challenge anything short of God himself. :P

And items are just an aspect of the character's power. Mine doesn't use any, I just gave him stronger powers to compensate.

As it stands, Dante, Fee, and Dara are sort of still in the "mortal" tier as far as power goes, while Na'lsa and Shealtiel have a huge suite of supernatural powers to draw on -- Na'lsa's seem to involve more being absolutely impossible to destroy and consuming single targets for his own benefit, while Shealtiel's powers are more offensive and destructive in nature.

So, somewhere in-between there would be a good ballpark, I suppose.

John Carpenter's 'The Thing'.

Or Kirby. Same thing, really. I choose Kirby.

Dara doesn't have a drawing yet...

I'm not sure what to do. I'll have to read over what I already wrote and maybe spruce things up a little, like have her able to go completely auraless when it comes to nasties detecting people, but really she's not the type to suddenly go all powerful. "Survivor" Pretty much sums things up.

She doesn't mean to! We just assume that Dante has funny vision that can still see her, maybe at a particular range. Can't hide from all detecting things.

I think it'd be hilarious if he couldn't see her. But still, the loss of one sense heightens others, so I'd assume he'd be able to feel body heat at close range or hear her.

Oh yeah. She's fairly stealthy as far as things go but it works best with things that would try to kill you. That's essentially how she has managed to not get killed even though she lacks fancy powers.

I suppose given that she has a double set of shoulder blades she could always sprout a pair of vestigial wings, if she doesn't have them already. Need to check what I wrote down.

Beside the fact that Dante can be kind of a derp sometimes, I wonder if telekinesis is a possible...er...ability for him. Or some sort of 'magic' that's not just fullblown magic and actually /fits/ into the Esch setting...

But if he does develop telekinetic powers, I have no idea what that could be used for.

I think Cain did a good job of demonstrating how good TK can be with his psychic tornado + dozens and dozens of tons of broken marble routine. :P
