A "smokers jacket" is what I was thinking about myself.
It's all sort of mis-mash from the older generation and younger. I mean back in the 70s they smoked inside everywhere. Now today they're trying to ban people from smoking while on the job at all, even on breaks. My grandma smoked in the house, and I'm fine. My dad did too. Hell my mom did for a short time..but I just don't want her to hate me. If she acts any different we already discussed to stop immediately, that's for damn sure. And we wash our hands and face every time after.

I know I've already talked to you about this, but I'mma say my piece anyways. >.<
It would NOT make you a bad mother. <3 My mom has been smoking since before I was born. It doesn't bother me, even though I'm highly allergic to it... she just never smoked near me when I was young, and now that I'm older I simply don't allow her to smoke in my bedroom, and we get along just fine. <3 The second hand smoke shouldn't bother her since you're taking so many precautions... I still say you'll be fine, even though I hope you can quit again after all this stress is gone, since keeping yourself healthy is also important. <3

:3 If it's still acceptable to comment, I'm new and all but my mom smoked when I was a kid, I smoke, I think everyone in my family has at one point or another smoked. My great-aunt, who's runnin' on being almost 80 still smokes half a pack a day and I don't think any less of her. I'm just shocked her lungs still work. Anything that they've done that make me think they failed as a parent or role model, a little bit never had anything to do with their personal choices but how they interacted with me and taught me about what they were doing. (Tho', after several "smoking is bad" programs at my middle school I was the child that brought home the pamphlets to my mom. >.> And now I'm smoking.)
Every smoker knows the risks and been shown several horror videos about what could happen to you (there's a new campaign I've been seeing on TV about getting a stoma.) What your plan was for how you'd go about smoking is fine. Just don't become some of those mothers/grandparents (omg who takes a 5 year old to the bar/smoking area of a chili's and they both light up?) that I want to punch when I go out (/ taking your baby to a smoking area around pool tables and lighting one up with them in your arms. -shakes head-) <3

I dont believe that it would make you a bad mother but the smell of smoke on your clothing could be bad for the baby and it may influence her/him to smoke when they are old enough and that is not a very good idea

Absolutely not. As long as you don't smoke anywhere near your baby and you can afford to upkeep both smoking and your child, then there is nothing wrong with it at all.
As for the people saying that it may influence your child, make it perfectly clear to them that smoking is a bad habit, and that just because you smoke, doesn't mean that they should. It's the whole, 'do as I say, not as I do' situation. Smoking doesn't effect your ability to parent, and I'm sure you'll be a fantastic parent regardless of if you take up smoking again.

Don't. Third hand smoke is just as dangerous (the smoke that gets into your clothes and hair).
And soon enough it'll become...I can smoke inside as long as my child isn't in the same room. Then it will be, long as I don't blow it in my child's face it'll be okay. Not saying it would make you a bad mother either way. I'm just saying it starts a slippery slope and smoking is very bad for you-it ups your chance of stroke, heart attack, and other things. Don't you want to be around to see possible grandchildren? This rant was brought to you by: The Surgeon General XD http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/thi...-smoke/AN01985

as long as it's not affecting anyone's health but yours go ahead.
sometimes i understand why people smoke though, it's relaxing especially if you're stressed. :/ or try that new e-cig, i know people who have ordered them online for like 10$. plus it'd probably harm You a bit less. plus they have cool flavours. :3

No, even smoking in view of your child would not make you a bad mother.. Blowing smoke at your child or making the child smoke would but that's not something i think you would do.. so i do not think you have any thing to worrie about.

I don't think it would make you a bad mother, if you do start again...just be sure to keep it as far away from your child as possible.
I do have one question though, but pleas don't take offence to it. Are you or will you be concerned about how it can affect your health down the line. I mean I would hate for something to happen and alter what you'll be able to do with physically her/ her kids as time goes one.
