"if it were possible.. I would have left long ago." He looked at her before looking towards the remains of the forest. "We've lost that power.. along with much of the others that the old world knew of. There is rumors or rather legends that the capital of my kind still holds these powers. But the pathway has been lost nearly as long as the ability to restore the forests have."
Though he seemed to shrug all of this off as he went to take a step forward. "whats it matter eh? it's a matter of time before all magic is removed from the world, it's to the point now most of us hide our true forms from the ignorant mortals."

Dalea nodded slightly to him, then smiled a little keenly. She knew the secret of his kind, but would only let him know if he did something for her. She blinked and her smile vanish when he came closer. "Well, it matters. Fairies will last, because our magic adapts. Even though we are now known to be evil creatures, it is needed to survive today's world." She looked sad about it, but shook it off. "It matters to me. I want a piece of this glade to survive even when this place has perished, which it will." She looked at him curiously. "I wish to come with you. To find this place that your kind gathers. I have an idea of where it is and I have something to offer."

"tsk i know fairies will last.. there is a few others that will. But for some of us our powers are connected to the very planet. You know as well as I do it is unwell." He seemed to leave it at that, it was the cause of most of the races dying off, of course with the help of the mortals."why this glade? there is a million others like it, or rather there should be there might be a handful that are not just mere forests now." He was a little cold in the way he spoke, he saw no reason for her to be helping him and he had no intention of helping her.
"do was you wish, I can't stop you" He said before he started to walk off. "I have a general idea of where I'm going.. there's no purpose in you causing trouble for your kind." Over all he was saying she didn't need to help him, rather he'd prefer if she didn't. Either way he went back to his walking, it was her choice if she wished to follow or not, though the world outside of the groves wasn't where beings of nature should be. Not anymore.

The fairy listened to him, but followed all the same. She took to flying though, tired of walking on her fragile feet. She fluttered behind him for almost ten minutes before sighing. She knew this was going to be very boring if he never spoke to her. He hadn't cared about her kind before and he didn't now. She knew that he didn't want her around, but she didn't really care too much. She was going to help whether he liked it or not. She had a stake in this and her mother knew her feelings, whether she be sane or otherwise.
After about twenty minutes she became bored and starting humming some dark tune in a soft voice. She swayed slightly to it as she flew, making it look graceful but sad. The song was a lament she'd made for the glade when it started to die off or be killed. This was her home, which made it hard for her to accept its destruction. She had her secrets that even her mother never knew. Like her visiting fairy outcasts, people who'd turned their backs on the fairy way and lived side by side with humans. The humans were thick headed. They never knew what fairies were until they saw wings.

As she started humming he glared at her a little before rolling his eyes. He knew of ways to lose her, he'd wait till they were just outside of the grove though. That would be soon enough as they were starting to enter into the section of the grove that was withered and dying.
About a hours walk later just as they were stepping from the groves 'protected' ground he seemed to pause a second before he seemed to absorb into the ground. He reformed himself near a tree that was a good 10 yards from the fairy. 'maybe that'll deter her from following at the least..' he thought, though he had his doubts in this matter. Not only that but he could probably use the help seeing as time was of the essence here if he wished to live. Though he wasn't sure if the elders of the dryads could even help. Not with how weak magic was in the world. Even if they could help what point would it be to? He still wouldn't restore the fairies grove.

Dalea stopped humming finally when he stopped, then tried to play a trick on her by 'seeping' into the ground. She pretended to look baffled and look around for him, then shrugged and flew up into the trees. A moment later she noiselessly landed on a branch above his head. "You know. You're not very sneaky." She said with a hint of cockiness. She fluttered down to him and pointed a finger in his face. "Look. I am here to help you, because I don't want you to die. Ok?" She sighed and shook her head, lowering her hand. "I value the life of magical creatures and I want to see the flourish again. I believe that if I help you, it will happen one day." She looked hopeful, but doubtful at the same time.
She then crossed her arms and looked at him sternly. "In any case, you're not getting rid of me." She'd learned all the tricks and been around dryads before they'd been killed off, so nothing he did would surprise her.

"tsk didn't think that'd work..worth a shot." He sighed pushing away from the tree as he moved to walk again going around her in the process figuring she'd follow him, though she did as she went on speaking still. "Look unless the sun blacks out or some dumb ass cuts that tree im bound to down I'm not dying.. so i have no idea why your fretting, also on that note i never asked for your help fairy."
He had a few tricks that may shock her.. though he'd wait to try them till later. If he lost her in a area where they weren't use to then it'd be better off. "helping me won't bring magic back to the lands, it's idiotic to even think one dryad makes a difference.. my sole purpose is to protect that grove that now i'm banished from." He laughed a little thinking about it. "your wasting your time."

Dalea didn't like being called and idiot. Anyone could tell by the way her wings fluttered angrily when he'd said that. She knew he would live as long as his tree was alive. But, she had a bad feeling, so she'd swiped a heart seed from his tree when he'd been passed out. Like, she'd predicted this very moment. She had leverage on him and he didn't know it. It was his own tree, but he didn't even know how to take it elsewhere in times of war or drought. She thought he was the idiot, not her.
Dalea shrugged. "I will waste my time as I please." She replied nonchalantly. She didn't really care how she spent her time anymore. Besides, she wanted to see a large gathering of dryads again. She missed the way they danced among the wind, with happy smiles on their faces. She knew that may never happen again though.

"eh suit yourself, though i can already tell you some of the regions we need to cross are hardly fairy friendly.. " He smirked a little, though to say the least they weren't his first choice for travel either. As far as sprouting a new heart tree, dryads of old use to grow whole forests of these trees, they were normally the strongest of the area and created a network to better protect the groves. But this was lost, simply taking a seed now a dryad could little to nothing, planting it did not make the seed any different from any other seedling.
Though on the same note a fairy with such a seed did have the upper hand, in more ways then one. Destroying the tree he was bound to they could very easily control his every movement with that one seed, given they knew how to do so. "oh i did mention we have to cross the mountain right? By that i mean both ranges of them.." He seemed to shrug a little, that meant both elements of fire and ice. Neither was something he looked forward to. Though he still couldn't put his finger on why she bothered to defy her very people just to follow him, surely she didn't think he was that weak.

Dalea didn't care what her people thought. She'd been 'defying' them since she was born. She thought about some of the things he'd said then shrugged. She was already colder than normal fairies, for good reason. He didn't need to know all her secrets though. Fire had never bothered her before and never would. She had little fear of such things, they were just elements of the earth that could be controlled by those who knew how.
She flew up beside him now, looking at him curiously. She'd never seek to control the dryad, just to persuade him. She watched him before she spoke softly. "I think that you should let me help you across the mountains. You can be used to cold weather." She watched him for a response.

He eyed her for a moment listening to what she was saying. "Oh... is that so.. that's hardly convincing." He shook his head a little thinking about what she was saying. "Do you honestly think I haven't looked into the terrain of this journey? Oh wait thats right.. you are still a fairy thus most races are probably looked upon as being inferior." He smirked a little never missing a step in his walk.
sure he could accept the fairies help, but why should he give her a easy time when all of these years he had been dealing with the fairies.. always telling him he wasn't upholding the vows he had made and most of them couldn't be upheld any longer. Not without retraining anyway, and that was next to impossible without getting tot he lost capital.

Dalea felt insulted by his comment, but she swallowed her pride and just glared at him. Instead of yelling at him or giving a snide comment in return, she stayed silent for a moment. Then she smiled and followed him more. "I know fairies are stuck up. I can't say that I'm not just a little. But, I've done nothing against you. I've not hurt you, I've only helped you. So, snapping at me is uncalled for."

"to be honest I've yet to snap at you so to speak... and you trying to be nice isn't winning me over I can ensure you of that." He shrugged a little. "I'd rather go about this journey alone, if I happen to die along the way so be it. No one would notice another guardian missing."
Though she did have a point, she hadn't done anything really against him. Though for the time being he wasn't going to give her that much of a satisfaction for her to know she was right. In due time he might try being nice to her, but till then he planned to see how far she could be pushed. Probably not the smartest idea by any means

Dalea blinked, then nodded slightly to herself. He hadn't technically snapped at her. She smiled and giggled softly to herself. With the knowledge that he would warm up to her sooner or later, she felt better. Everyone liked her, even though she didn't necessarily like everyone else.
"Soo....I never really caught your name." She wasn't sure if he'd said it yet or not. But she wasn't sure he knew her name either. What was wrong with her? She should've known if he did though...

"probably because I've never said it" He shook his head a little. "your a fairy thought you could read minds as well." He had to chuckle slightly at the thought knowing even that was a bit far-fetched. "To be fair I don't have yours either, though I never asked for it nor do I care if you share it."
She seemed to still flutter at his side as he walked, he finally sighed speaking again. "It's Vor according to the mortals near the forest, aside from that my other name is long forgotten" He seemed to shrug a little he never mentioned why he forgot though there was a tale behind it, probably one that explained his hatred towards mortals.

Dalea blinked, then nodded. "Fair enough." Then she smiled and moved in front of him. "I can't read minds. I've never met anyone that could...except that naga...scared me shitless." Then she smiled and held out her hand. "I'm Dalea. Its nice to know you, Vor."
