Mercury Poisoning!

I enjoy both- I keep silly things like Tumblr, and OpenDairy(That's the website name) but I find the complete lack of feed back and the feeling like I'm writing to no one kind of saddening. I mean- websites like that are meant for people to read and respond. Or at least I think that, especially when you actually post something thought provoking. I mean- I see more replies on things that are stupid than things that are meaningful, which is kind of a level of disappointment all it's own.

I used to keep a journal, and I even went so far as to writing it in a different language. But it never got me anywhere. My mom would translate it and read it. And if I bought one with a lock on it I'd be questioned. So at least that way I can lock files, or erase my history. Though I find something more fresh about writing in a book, you can't take back what you write. Only cross it out, try to cover it or rip out a page.

Both are nice but come with their own kind of cons.

We're all mad here.
I take a differentn approach to journalling then you do, MuseSick. To me, the journal itself is an entitiy and I address it when I write. I speak to an audience, and I always have the feeling that there is one, even if it may come years down the road in a dusty attic somewhere. It's sort of an impression that I have, preserving my thoughts and impressions of my life for posterity.

I once tore out some pages of my early journal when I was a child because I thought too much time had passed between those entries and when I started writing again, and I've regretted it ever since.

I also kept a journal in another language. I'm a native English speaker but was learning Swedish in university so I kept a journal in that language as practice. I haven't written in it in ages but I keep telling myself to pick it up again, even if it's just to write in some basic vocabulary lists, like groceries for dinner.

If I want to write a story I prefer pen and paper because the story seems more direct when I write it onto paper, then I proofread it, organize it and such since it's easier for me to do it.

I've done most of my short stories in an notebook with pencil and paper since there wasn't any computers around to do it during class XD.

But it's been a long time since I wrote a short story the last one I remember was from a dream that I had while I was in high school. And I've never written a story since because I feel like I'm not that creative and my plots so berserk.

Now I'm trying to RP on Tris, and for me it's a little bit difficult to do it electronically cause I have to remember what i'm typing down as well as I make more spell errors on computers than writing it down.

The only time when I need to officially type things down is for applications, update resumes, and to chat here.

It would be nice to get back to my story habits, but I don't know where my book is as well as I get writer's block almost all the time.

Sorry for the rant. I prefer pencil and paper :)

I have half a dozen notebooks that I write in and only know where a few of them are at any given time. Even then a reasonably sparse piece of paper is good enough for me to take notes on. Most of my short stories happen on computer though, simply because I hate writing stuff down twice. When I write a short story in pen or pencil, it almost never makes it to computer, which is where it needs to be if I intend to try and pubish anything. Thus, most of my short story writing is now electronic. Poetry I still largely write by hand though.
