I wouldn't say that Brave New World is written in an outdated style, the book itself is just outdated and therefore the style with it.
I haven't encountered Lolita but I'm aware of some of the more controversial books over British history somewhat. Personally, I like the older styles and I've been reading books from around the turn of the century lately (20th century, that is. Have to actually be specific now!)
I'm finding I like some of the older movies now too, for their aesthetics. For instance I like watching the old Moby Dick (1956) over the newer one with Patrick Stewart (which isn't that new, I know) because I prefer the whale puppet to the not so great computer graphics at the time of the newer one.
I've heard it mentioned that there have been lots of improvements made in anamatronics lately, but people are so focused on computer now that it's largely not considered as a medium for film.
I'm casually looking for old Vincent Price movies now. I ran into a mention of Mask/Masque (not sure which) of the Red Death, which I only knew as a DnD adventure until I caught the end of the Vincent Price film on tv. The film apparently came from a short story by Edgar Allen Poe.
I like Vincent Price as an actor but have only seen parts of his movies so far, besides the odd modern cameo prior to his death.
