I'm a bit more of an artist, but when I draw I tend to listen to music, mostly from nickleback, like saving me, and if everyone cared. I draw whatever is in my heart at that time, and it usually reaches out to other people really easily. When I was in art,my professor had to take me to the side at the time because my art seemed a bit dark, but I was in a dark mood at the time, I felt very confused, and my parents were not making anything easier. Also I felt lonely, I got so absorbed into my art that year, that it looked amazing for something that was quite dark.

Oh that's right! "Someday" by Rob Thomas is also a good song I listen to when down. Like Eclipse I'm an artist too...at least at heart xD I like to do terrible scribbly art without trying and that's about it. I've noticed the only time I actually do focused drawing for more than just one drawing out of 3 months is when I have some sort of deadline. Then art is just a way to stall time xD;

Jurinjo: I find I tend to give a little more effort if I'm feeling something. If its not there its like I'm half-a**ing it. XD

I usually sleep when I'm depressed.
Sleeping makes me happy.
I don't listen to specific music when I'm down. Usually just put it on shuffle.

I listen to the jazz. Everyone likes the jazz, even if it is for old guys. I also listen to feel good music from Matt and Kim. They do a good job at music.

Things used to bug me alot. Slowly but surely Im just not caring anymore. Before it took something funny to cheer me up. Now all it takes is me telling myself "there is no real issue, forget about it who cares?" And then Im good to go. Well..that and the rain. When its storming outside I feel really good. I love rainy stormy weather. <3

When I get down I usually look at what my schedual has been like and look for something I'm not doing. Going out helps, getting out of the house in general since I'm at home nearly all the time, even if it's just to walk around the street. I will write if the mood is right.

I will listen to music too, and I find that when I am in a bad mood, dour or low key music will help. I think in part it's a compatability thing. Depressing or low music feels better because it's understandable, while happy or upbeat stuff just makes me feel worse because it's talking about happy things that may not be availble to me at the moment. Power metal I find to be among the most uplifting an any circumstance. I have Hammerfall mostly but some Dragonforce is good too. There's something about kicking the *#$& out of the universe that helps thins along even when things feel really bad.

For me, it depends if I'm depressed *about* something, or just depressed. If the former, either trying to fix whatever it is, or at least put it out of mind can help, as can doing any number of things I enjoy. But the latter, I've found nothing can be done for. I think I might have seasonal affective disorder, as I get really gloomy on winter nights, more often than not, though I can't stand hot sunny days, so go figure.

Music doesn't help at all for me. I listen almost exclusively to really somber, depressing metal (My Dying Bride, Draconian, Anathema, etc) and when I'm serious down, that doesn't do me any favors. Sometimes, it'll even make it worse. And anything more upbeat just sounds hollow to me, regardless of how I'm feeling.

I take my dog for a walk.

It's healthy, uncomplicated, and the only being I'm with loves me unconditionally.

See, I'd try that but I fear I'd look very strange walking my dog (cute little dachshund). I don't really, um, look like the dog-walking sort. It might be the combat boots covered in spikes and chains, I'm not sure. :p

It's fine.
I saw someone who looked like they belong to Hell's Angels walking a poodle the other day.

Ah, see, I'm not the type who looks like they'd flay you alive if you stare or laugh, though. Too skinny. :D

I don't know if he'd even like walking, though. He can be pretty lazy. Would probably expect me to carry him. He has a rather high opinion of himself. :p

I find walking helps too. I live around woodsy areas, suburb type stuff so there isn't too much car noise or exaust. I'd take my dog more often but he isn't always keen on going for walks and I can usually get him about half a block to two blocks (on a good day) before he decides he's going to go home, at which point I can usually get him to move in 6 foot incrememts, maybe, after much tugging on the lease. He starts moving again once we get around the block enough that to continue is shorter than turning around.

Charmed Forever
When I'm feeling down, I try to get out of the house and be with friends so I won't think about what is bothering me. If I go to music, I play songs that I know the lyrics to already so I can sing along and focus on that.
