rice and beans are a staple of Brazilian cuisine! But since I haven't been eating rice lately I've been eating less beans :< which is sad.

I would just like to say if you eat beans fairly regularly eventually your body gets used to them and builds up the enzymes it needs to digest them more easily, so less wind.

Some beans can kill you if they are undercooked, which is scary. Anyone who doesn't know how to cook should refrain from cooking this type of beans.

I know rice and beans break down into protein,
so it's a good and reasonably cheap vegetarian alternative. Also who doesn't love red bean paste?

Red bean paste is...okay in...limited quantities.

I am not a huge fan of red bean paste or jellybeans.

Most red beans need to be boiled for a minimum of 15-30 minutes to get rid of the stuff in them that will cause stomach problems.
