Javascript's primary advantage is that it can run in a browser with no special installation necessary. Its primary disadvantage is that as a primarily web-based language it's limited on the kinds of things it's allowed to do, particularly when it comes to reading and writing data on the local computer.

So whether or not JS is "better" depends on what exactly you want to do with it.

Basically I want it to reaspond to keys and display text.

Like

"Hit enter to continue"
*Enter is hit and more text appears from thin air*
"Type blue to open door"
*Blue is typed and enterd, more text is sent saying what's behind said opend door*

Just extreamly basic things.

Text input from the keyboard is a little bit easier in Python. It's not particularly hard in Javascript but doing it in a way that feels comfortable to the user requires a little bit of existing knowledge on how to structure it instead of being handled for free by virtue of Python running in a text console.

Python it is then, I was already able to figure out how some of it was going to work out with Python it seemed pretty simple.
