Quick Rant
I am about ready to quit my summer job, my boss, the owner, has no clue what he is doing and because I accidentally broke the gazebo (100 dollar item) I now have to buy a new one. It wouldn't have been so bad but he told me earlier today that I didn't have to go and buy a new one then I get a text tonight stating that I need to bring the new one in on Wednesday. First off the good ones run at least 100 bucks, second off since he told me I didn't have to get a new one I paid back my mother for buying me some new work clothes at the start of the summer when i had no cash.
I signed up to work Mornings and the occasional all day shift at the kennel. Now last week with out warning he decided that I was going to start working 1 measly hour in the evenings too so he didn't have to feed the dogs dinner and poop scoop the yard at night (Which he didn't do any way). It cuts straight into the middle of my day and I work M - F every day. 7 am to 10 am (11 if I have to spray down the whole house which is once a week) and now 4 pm to 5 pm. It isn't what I signed up for, and he keeps on stating how much they need me there but when ever I can't come in he gets pissed at me.
The friday before last I woke up sick as a dog, and called me sick because I didn't want to pass out in the kennel where no one would notice for at least an hour. I was suppose to work the weekend and called him friday night stating that I felt a lot better and could work Saturday morning. He told me no to working all weekend and Monday (my normal full work day). Monday morning he texts me at 8 am asking if I had gotten an email, I hadn't and had still been sleeping. I told him no and upon reading it realized he changed my hours, with out asking me if it was workable with me. He also was trying to force me to start doing the at home visits for the kennel... One, If anything happened I was responsible. Two, The visits where 3 times a day on the other side of town (A good 20 minute drive). Three, It was only 10 dollars a visit.. and if they didn't like the job I did they didn't have to pay me.
I told him flat out no and he then stated that I needed to work Wednesday ( The day Alpha left for basic and my best friend's sister graduated from high school) when I reminded him that I had told him two weeks ago I needed it off he stated that he needed me there and I would just need to cancel what ever it was. I put my foot down and stated no went into work tuesday and did my job and left.
Wednesday morning he called me at 7 asking for me to come into work ' just for an hour or two.' And stated he would pay me time and a half. I told him no yet again because I needed to get ready and wouldn't cancel going to Erin's graduation (10 years of friendship with her sister basically made me family). Latter that day he texted me stating that he wanted me to work all day thursday so he could go off with his daughter for the day. Then on Friday when the gazebo apparently broke he left me with his 8 year old daughter for 3 hours and disappeared, I was at work all day with nothing to eat or drink.
But the two metal arms snapped (probably when I was pushing it closed though I never heard it) between friday when i put it away and today when i went to open it. And he told me that it was no big deal that it was too expensive an item to force me to replace when we don't even know i broke it. (His daughter could have pushed it in too hard friday night when she helped me put it completely away) And now I need to have one by wednesday... I am debating just quitting and getting another job, or getting something that I can't break like a tarp with bungee cords connecting to the fence and upper rain pipe.

He sounds lazy and stupid, I would beat him or at least look for a way to get him into trouble.

He can't, his wife owns the business. And he is lazy, the days I don't work he complains about having to clean the kennel and bathe the dogs. He also doesn't know the rules of the kennel, like never put two different families of dogs alone in an area. I went in yesterday evening to his dogs outside with another dog in the play area and he put a non neutered male dog in the same run as another non neutered male dog because 'they can't play with the other dogs they need exercise.'..... I take both of them on a mile long walk alone each day when i work a full shift day. when i don't I make sure to put them in the yard alone for at least 20 minutes if not 40.
