"Of course Seth, just bring her by once you've had your fun at the Midnight Carnival." She laughed in his head then got back to work, closing the link between them.

The woman smiled looking back to Annemarie, "Of course you can, dear. I think you'd look adorable with it." She untied the ribbon from around her chin, lifting her hat off her head and placing it slightly on the side of Annemarie's. She tied it gently around her chin, "That's not too tight, right?" She smiled, her hand moving to display the ride, "Pick your steed, but be careful, they like to bite sometimes." She gave the girl a wink then looked back to Seth.

She held out her hand, letting her feet fall, showing they were bare, "It's a pleasure to meet you Seth." She gently shook his hand, but quickly pull it away with a small squeak. Images flooded her mind until she let go of his hand. She looked at her hand, puzzled. "Did you..." she looked back up, seeing he was unfazed. She shook her head, "Never mind..."

Seth got up on the ride and helped Annemarie up on a horse.
"Daddy? Why do you keep staring at that nice lady?" She asked confused.
"She just looks like someone I used to know is all." He said as he sniffed the air before the ride started. "Well she's not a vampire in less she's hiding it, but something is different about her." Seth thought as the ride started.

Annemarie grabbed the horse and let go in shock.
"What's wrong hunbun?" He asked worried.
"These horses were real at one point." Annemarie said scared.
"Are you sure?" Seth asked trying to calm her down.
"Daddy I'm positive." She said starting to tear up.
"Hunbun don't cry." Seth said.
"But they.." She started to say but was cut off by Seth.
"Annemarie, ♫Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Too-ra-loo-ra-li, Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Hush, now don't you cry.♫" Seth sang to her to calm her down.

After the ride was over they got off and went back to the lady.

The woman sat there contently, her eyes closed, humming along with the music from the carousel. She let it run for a few minutes, then let it slow to a stop to let them off. As they came back, she looked to the girl, who seemed a bit distraught, "Did they bite you? Why, I out to get the whip." She reached forward to remove her hat from the girl's head, but paused.

"You were crying. I may be a stranger, but if those disobedient little monsters hurt your feelings I will be sure to give them an adequate punishment." She sighed, slipping of her stool and kneeling on the ground before her, gently running her hand through the girl's brown hair, "Tell me what they did to you?"

As she waited, she gently removed her hat, placing it upon her head. She furrowed her brow slightly as she tried to get it in just the right spot, then finally tied the ribbon and turning her attention back to Annemarie.

[Bovice]

"They were real." Annemarie said with a blank expression.
"Shh hunbun." Seth said trying to stop her from exposing them.
"Daddy they were real horses." She said almost ready to ball.
"Hunbun its ok. ♫ Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Too-ra-loo-ra-li. ♫" He started to sing. But looked at the lady. "I'm sorry she's just had a long day we just moved back here today." Seth said trying to cover up Annemarie's outburst of her powers.

The woman tilted her head slightly, listening to her. "My dear, you needn't worry about that. I promise you, that those horses were not harmed. They're just skins pulled over a plastic skeleton. Please don't cry." She whipped away the girl's tears, "Tell you what! How about I show you something really neat?"

She looked up to Seth, "Ah, don't worry about it. It's a shocking revelation for children. Most of them are unable to make the connection, but she must be special. Very smart I take it?" She then took Annemarie's hands gently in hers, looking back to her, "I promise you'll love it."

[Bovice]

"Yes, yes she is." Seth said looking at the woman.
"But I see their lives." Annemarie said sad.
"Annemarie hush. If this nice lady says they aren't real they aren't real." Seth said sternly. "Annemarie if I go with you to see what she is talking about will you settle down please." Seth said as he bent down to wipe her hair out of her face.
"Ok daddy." She said as she let go of the woman's hand grabbing Seth's hand.

"You need to remember to not go off like that in public hunbun." Seth said calmly.
"I know daddy I'm sorry." She said looking up at Seth.
"I wish her telepathy would come in." Seth thought to himself. "It's ok hunbun." He said as he looked at the lady. "Lead the way." Seth said with a smile.

She smiled, standing up and taking her hand gently, "So how old are you Annemarie?" She swiftly led them through the carnival, weaving in and out of people smoothly. Soon they were near the back upon a large barn that followed the red, black and gold theme. She let go of Annemarie's hand and hauled the door open to reveal that the barn was actually well lit and quite bright on the inside.

She motioned for them to go through. Inside were about 23 stalls, each holding a different horse breed, and color. "This, is our main attraction. The horses. Each is a fairly rare breed, and a different color. They're very friendly to everyone..except me it seems. So I'll just wait out here, 'kay?" She pulled a few cubes of alfalfa from a bucket, "Feel free to give them one."

"Ill be six next week." She said proudly.
They entered like they were told. Seth fallowed Annemarie to one of the horses when he stepped forward the horse backed up and started to look nervous. "Well it looks like we have something in common. They seem not to like me either." Seth said with a chuckle.

"Hunbun if you need anything I will be over by her."
"Okie daddy." She said as she went up to another horse.
Seth walked over and stood by the lady. "We haven't been formally introduced. I'm Seth Augustin." He said as he stretched out his hand.

She smiled, watching her, "She is just too darn cute." She looked to him as he introduced himself. She smiled, reaching to shake his hand, "Elysia LaShalla; pleasure to meet you Seth." She quickly shook his hand, then crossed them over her chest, watching Annemarie with the horses, "She really does love animals, doesn't she?"

"LaShalla? That was Serus' human last name." He thought to himself shocked. "Um ya she does, but sadly we can't get animals." Seth said still puzzled. "LaShalla hm? I used to know someone with that name when she was hum... not married." Seth said hoping she didn't notice he almost said human.

She tilted her head, looking up at him. With her being a short 5' 4" she had to tilt her head slightly to see his face. "Why can't you? Allergies?" After a moment, she said, "Did you? What was her name? LaShalla isn't a very common name, I might know her." She smiled a bit, lacing her fingers behind her back

"No not allergies, animals just don't seem to like me." Seth said easily.
"Her name was Serus." Seth said looking at Annemarie. "I've always wanted to get her a pet but no matter what kind they instantly hate me." Seth said kind of sad but with a little chuckle.

When Seth felt a little sad Annemarie looked at him.

"I also feel bad because she never knew her mother." Seth said sadly. "I'm sorry I'm pouring my heart out to you you just seem like a really nice person." Seth sad as he rubbed his head.

Annemarie focused on Seth. "Daddy why are you sad again? Are you talking about mommy." She asked.

"Aww your first telepathy. To answer you question yes I am. Also I will start training you later about controlling it a little more." Seth said with a smile.

Elysia pondered a moment, muttering the name quietly to herself, "Nooo...I don't seem to recall anyone by that name, and it's alright. I don't remember much of anything it seems. Just about 15 years of my life are a complete blank to me. So, I sort of get where you're coming from. It's sad really. Woke up 8 years ago in a hospital, didn't know who I was, how old I was, or anything. Yet alone, why the hell I have white hair at 23. But you know, I kind of like it now. It just seems..right." She laughed softly, "Now you've got me doing it! It's contagious I tell you."

She sighed a bit, humming to the music of the fair for a moment, "I'm sorry if I'm stepping somewhere I shouldn't, but did her mother die?" She gave him a apologetic look, "You don't have to answer, since it's not my place to ask. We barely know each other..I don't expect you to divulge such tender information."

[Bovice]

"I'm sorry." He said chuckling. "It's all right, yes her mother is dead. More accurately she was murdered." Seth said with a frown. "We were only married for a year when it happened. Of course I was all ways told to never live in New York but I didn't listen." He said trying to brush off his sadness. "Anyway would you like to go out for coffee sometime?" Seth asked as Annemarie started to walk back to them.

She placed a hand gently on his shoulder, "I'm sorry...And I would love too." She quickly removed her hand, as if his shoulder were a hot burner.

More shady images flashed through her mind, causing her to feel a bit dizzy and swaying slightly. She gently placed her hand on her head, dispelling the images and sensation along with it. She was odd enough with her white hair and carny job at a macabre carnival.

As Annemarie came back over she bent over to eye level, "Did you enjoy yourself? I thought it might cheer you up a bit."

[Bovice]

"Are you ok?" He asked as she swayed.
"Yes I did." She said with a big smile.
Seth looked at his watch. "Oh wow is that the time already? Hunbun we should head home." He said as he picked her up.
"But I wanna look around a little more." She said with a little whine.
"We will come back tomorrow ok?" Seth asked with a smile.

"Fine daddy." She said as she started to pout.
"Don't do that or your face will stick like that." He said with a chuckle. "Does tomorrow sound good for coffee? Around noon?" Seth asked Elysia.
