I'd actually prefer they'd keep all of them, no matter if it's the current EIs, MIs or commons (especially Gabriel's belt(s) and leg guards as well as Katarine's silk skirt, I almost always use those items, or at least 1 of those items, when making avatar).

But from what I've understood some of the commons could be left out >.<.

Yeah, Honestly I only ever changed the color of my vest once I got my look where I wanted it so the item thing isn't going to hurt me as much as it will other people. I do hope they keep the event items though, I used 2 of them for my barkeep look.

That's lucky for you. I have a lot of commons on my account but, frankly, I hope that they do erase them from inventories purely so that Crys v3's economy won't be messed up from the get-go >.<. Even if getting everything back will be annoying >.>...
