That's kinda where I'm sitting right now. If I can tell a complete story, I'll call that a win even if I don't hit 50k words. I've wanted to write this story for MONTHS now and NaNo is just the motivating impulse I needed to get on it.

Great way to use NaNo Coda and Quiet.
This year, I'm using NaNo to practice writing humorous scenes. I had a story, but it's not really working out in a smooth and linear pattern. But using this month as practice so I can go back to a previous novel and add in humorous passages sounds like a great plan.

only 630 words for me today, but i've written 8430 so far for NaNo, and that's, interestingly enough, on par for day 5! XD

also, final count for my novel is 57,085 words!

Ugh, I didn't manage to get an update out yesterday, and despite my best efforts I wasn't able to do so this morning, either. I'm disappointed with myself.

I have no idea if I'm going to be able to get a double release out, either... ._.

On the bright side I got a really good critique over on Sufficient Velocity, so that'll help.

good critiques are good things, actually. years ago when those of us in my writers' group actually wrote things (LOL!) someone had offered some criticism about my Duke in Timeless Dance - and what she said made a lot of sense, which is why the Duke character acts, behaves, and thinks as he does in the story.

"It sucks," on the other hand, is not a very good critique. LOL!

Blaaah. I'm up to 5258 words now (I haven't posted the update because it's not done yet, but that's where I'm leaving off) which puts me done with day 3... at the end of day 6... x.x I mean, yes, I'm not going to sweat it at the end of the month if I don't make it, but I at least want to TRY!
