Well Moon, if I can suggest you something, the grey or silver ducktape is very useful for props and the such ^^ (That's how I attached the three pieces of Sephiroth's shoulder armor together underneath them, or well attached the thread that attach the piece together, it holds better than just hot glue, especially over paper maché and wonderflex ^^ )

To cover the sticky side, you can use either plastic wrap or thin fabric. Plastic wrap is a cheap and easy solution, but it won't do you any favors to soak up sweat while you are wearing your dress.
