I recognized that one pretty fast. I had to memorize his speechy thing after he learns that he's not going to me made king; "We that teach bloody instructions..." etc. Shamefully I can't remember who was being made king. Just that it wasn't him. Doubt I can recall it all now though.

Malcom sounds right.

Malcom King? That is a step! etc. etc, blah blah blah, poisoned chalice.

My Shakespeare is a little sub par these days, but Macbeth wasn't on my list for Uni.

I still think it's silly that they felt the need to call it "Sorcerer's" Stone. If you don't think kids will understand what is meant by "Philosopher" removing the word isn't going to help.

Thinking about that one today. One of my favourite endings. I always remember watching the funeral scene in "The Mysterious Lives of Altar Boys" if I have that title right. Curious movie.

I could more or less put down the entirety of Paradise Lost as my favorite literature quote of all time. >_>

But to narrow the focus, slightly, I am particularly fond of Satan's first speech to Beelzebub as they rise on the floor of Hell in Book I.

Quote:
If thou beest he; But O how fall'n! how chang'd
From him, who in the happy Realms of Light [ 85 ]
Cloth'd with transcendent brightness didst out-shine
Myriads though bright: If he Whom mutual league,
United thoughts and counsels, equal hope
And hazard in the Glorious Enterprize,
Joynd with me once, now misery hath joynd [ 90 ]
In equal ruin: into what Pit thou seest
From what highth fall'n, so much the stronger prov'd
He with his Thunder: and till then who knew
The force of those dire Arms? yet not for those,
Nor what the Potent Victor in his rage [ 95 ]
Can else inflict, do I repent or change,
Though chang'd in outward lustre; that fixt mind
And high disdain, from sence of injur'd merit,
That with the mightiest rais'd me to contend,
And to the fierce contention brought along [ 100 ]
Innumerable force of Spirits arm'd
That durst dislike his reign, and me preferring,
His utmost power with adverse power oppos'd
In dubious Battel on the Plains of Heav'n,
And shook his throne. What though the field be lost? [ 105 ]
All is not lost; the unconquerable Will,
And study of revenge, immortal hate,
And courage never to submit or yield:
And what is else not to be overcome?
That Glory never shall his wrath or might [ 110 ]
Extort from me. To bow and sue for grace
With suppliant knee, and deifie his power,
Who from the terrour of this Arm so late
Doubted his Empire, that were low indeed,
That were an ignominy and shame beneath [ 115 ]
This downfall; since by Fate the strength of Gods
And this Empyreal substance cannot fail,
Since through experience of this great event
In Arms not worse, in foresight much advanc't,
We may with more successful hope resolve [ 120 ]
To wage by force or guile eternal Warr
Irreconcileable, to our grand Foe,
Who now triumphs, and in th' excess of joy
Sole reigning holds the Tyranny of Heav'n.
For full effect, the recited version here brings it to life rather well, I find. :)

Mercury Poisoning!
Got say, ''Eat the porn'' is a pretty epic manga quote.

Other than that (I had to search that one online because I can never remember it in it's entirety) :
"Towards thee I roll, thou all-destroying but unconquering whale; to the last I grapple with thee; from hell’s heart I stab at thee; for hate’s sake I spit my last breath at thee. Sink all coffins and all hearses to one common pool! and since neither can be mine, let me then tow to pieces, while still chasing thee, though tied to thee, thou damned whale! Thus, I give up the spear!" - Cap. Ahab from Moby Dick.
I don't even
