The moment Saya mentioned the festival Joey's eyes lit up like Christmas lights. His smile grew wider, something Olivia didn't think was possible, and he took on the expression of a little boy when he found out he was going to get exactly what he wanted. "Funny you should mention that Saya. I actually wanted to talk to you two about it. You see, I'm directing the play and I happen to be short two characters. They're small parts, they don't even have more than two lines each. One is a servant boy and the other is... a maid." His eyes swerved over to Olivia when he said 'maid.'
Olivia stared back at him, knowing full well she should not dress up like a girl. It wouldn't help the male persona she was constructing at all. "I get the feeling you want me to play the girl, don't you?" She said, her voice sounding sort of tired. She knew she should not say yes, but she also knew that she already would. "You're the only guy I know that could pull it off." Joey said in a sugar sweet voice. Then his face changed to resemble a very sad puppy. "Pretty please, Olly." He said, staring at her with big eyes. With a sigh she gave in. "Yeah, okay." These words were followed by a big hug from Joey. He crushed her to him, bouncing around like a child. When he finally let go, Olivia had to catch her breath. "And I assume you'll be willing to play the servant boy?" He said, turning to look at Saya with a similar puppy-dog expression.

"Sure, why not? Maybe it'll keep Sis's interest more." Sayaku laughed. "Besides, I come from a farming village. I've met a lot of servant boys back then so I know a lot about them. It might help me put up a front for it." He grinned. "You'll have to tell me where we're performing in advance though. My sister needs details that I can tell her sooner rather than later, so she can have someone write it down and remind her."

Joey clapped his hands together and let out an exclamation of joy. "I knew I could count on you two! You guys just give off a very reliable vibe. They play is here on campus. In about a month," He told them with another grin. He patted both of their heads and moved to walk in front of them, looking back to be sure they were following.
Olivia laughed and shook her head. "What am I getting myself into?" She with a smile to no one in particular. Joey turned and with a flourish of his head said, "Stardom, my dear boy. You'll be famous." "Sure. For playing a girl." She said, laughing a little harder. Joey shrugged. "Fame is fame. You take what you can get."

"How does playing a part in a school play make someone famous, anyway?" Sayaku asked with a blank look on his face. "Seriously, this may be an arts-amplified school but it doesn't mean we get famous just for saying a line in a play. That's not logical even to me." The boy laughed, however. "Still, it'll be fun. As long as the people enjoy it, y'know?"
"Don't worry too much about him, he's just overreacting to things." Peter noted, walking up from behind. "Oh and be careful with him around your sister. Knowing our luck he'll scare her away." "Eh, she'll admire and envy his energy is my guess." Sayaku replied, chuckling. "I don't think even Flute could find this guy scary. And she's scared of guys in general, so that's saying somethin'. Olive too, probably won't be a problem."

Joey gave Saya a sideways glance and a small devious looking smile. "You should have more imagination. The possibilities are endless. Never doubt. Always imagine," He said, which was a motto he pretty much lived by.
Olivia laughed as Joey spun to face Peter with a fake pained expression. "I'm hurt Peter! You should have more confidence in me!" He laughed and then swooshed his hand through Peter's hair and then dodged away from him in case he were to strike back. He seemed to be especially hyper this morning. He turned and looked at Saya. "I will be an angel in front of your sister." He promised solemnly. Olivia found that hard to believe.

"I'm with Olive," Sayaku noted, reading the other boy's expression. "I'll believe it when I see it. Just be careful. Sis has a weak body 'cause of poor health and she's naturally slow. So don't make her run anywhere... If you do, she'll collapse and I'm not letting you off easy." Sayaku's grin showed he was being partially playful as he watched Peter flick his friend's shoulder.
"Don't be a baby. You should be able to handle criticism."

"I won't, I won't! I swear I can be good when I try!" Joey said.
Olivia smiled warmly at the group as they interacted with each other. 'Boys' She thought with a good natured roll of her eyes. Suddenly Joey had pulled her to him and had his arm around her shoulder, at least sort of, it was difficult to manage with their height differences. "Lil' Olly here is my only true friend it seems." He said sound forlorned. "You don't really think I'm that bad, do you?" Olivia shook her head with a smile. "Well... there's hope for you...maybe." Joey stuck out his tongue at her, but didn't release her from his hold while they walked. Olivia was getting the picture that he was a touchy sort of person, which was not a bad thing, but she wasn't all that thrilled to be this close to a male after what had happened with Saya that morning.

Sayaku grumbled to himself. "I thought I was your friend too," He pouted, laughing a bit soon after as he felt a pat on the back from Peter.
"Don't take it to heart. He knows we're just teasing him. Mostly." "I guessed so." Sayaku grinned before keeping his pace up to match that of his friends. "Oh, Joey. What exactly is the play about? It'd be easier to play the part if I know the story."

The light from earlier sparked in Joey's eyes and he released Olivia in order to use his hands as he spoke. "Oh it's brilliant! You see, it starts out with this noble girl. Her parents are the duke and duchess of somewhere," He waved away the last part as if it were and unimportant detail, "Her parents are trying to marry her off to Prince, whose a really... unpleasant fellow. So she's sent to live in the castle with a few other girls buying for the chance. She tries to make a break for it but is caught by the Prince's bodyguard. Throughout her stay they begin to fall in love, but the Prince has taken a fancy to her and realizes the two are getting... close. He tries to have the knight executed, but on the execution day the girl slips the knight a sleeping pill and disguises herself as him. It's customary for the faces to be covered when taken to execution so no one knows until it's to late. It's really very sad." Joey said seeming not to take a single breath. "You too are the servant that attend to the girl." He added as an after thought.
"That's... certainly gonna be a tear jerker." Olivia said when he had finished.

"Sounds it to me too, but I definitely like the story. Has a lot of substance." Sayaku smiled, having enjoyed Joey's elaborate explanation of a unique and interesting story. "Did you write this one yourself, Joey? If so, you're quite the playwright. I'm impressed. By that and your energy this early in the morning."
"He's basically always energetic." "That's for sure. He's more energetic then a billy goat I think...And I thought billy goats were scarily energetic..."

Joey's smile softened and he seemed really please. "It was a collaboration between me and Seric, a friend of mine. He'd be directing it too, but he really wanted to act in it so...." He trailed off with a good natured shrug. "Personally, I'd prefer to act too, but they needed someone who wrote it to direct, and also I'll really enjoy seeing it all come together."
"I think he must eat multiple packs of candy every morning to pull this off." Olivia noted, added to the discussion of Joey's hyperness.

((I'm with Olive. THere's no way in hell I could ever be that hyper in the morning...Even with a number of packs of candy. I'd get a sugar crash actually...))
"Well you two did a good job. And you'll be a fine director, I'm sure." Sayaku smiled, patting his friend's back gingerly. "Who's ready for breakfast? I'm starving." ((Sorry this post sorta stinks >>))

Joey grinned. "Thank you Saya." He did a strange bow toward his friend as if he had just done a great performance. "Yes! To the sustenance!" He pointed ahead of them and began to walk jollily. When they reached the cafeteria her turned to Saya and Olivia. "Oh, after classes come by to get some costume measurements." Then his eyes singled in on Olivia. "And we'll practice your make-up. It has to be perfect and very convincing by the time opening night rolls around."
Olivia laughed. "How about you leave the make-up to me? I didn't grow up with all my sisters and never learn how to do make-up. I've even done their's for them before." She told him, and being the kind of person he was he found nothing strange with a guy knowing how to do make-up. "Do the basics then, but leave the rest to the make-up artists. They know how the lighting on stage will effect it." He said with a smile, then rushed off into line. ((Oh, it's fine hmmm, I'm considering having Joey realize he's attracted to Olive,(not start to like her or anything, sort of just wanting to be closer to her without understanding why) you know, considering the play might have them spending more time together. Perhaps Saya could get a little jealous?))

((That could work. And he'll start getting confused as to why he's feeling that way 8D Oh and I plan on Saya's little sister, when she visits, having an interest in Joey despite being slightly fearful of his natural energy level... xD))
"Measurements? What sort of measurements do you need?" Sayaku looked at his friend, slightly unsure as to what was meant. "Eh, guess I'm still far from modern with some things." Laughing a bit, he followed his friends gingerly, hands carefully placed behind his head. "I wonder what it'll feel like to play a servant boy... Maybe it'll make me feel like I'm back on the farm... Somehow that sounds about right." "You're a genuine farmboy alright," Peter noted in response. "Joey, maybe you should give him my spot as a farmer instead. He'd be more convincing since he already is one." "But then I wouldn't be 'acting' now would I? I wanna do something different. Isn't that the point of acting anyway?" Sayaku grinned before looking at Oliver, patting the boy's back. "Besides, it'll be easier to work with Olive and practice the little we have to do in our own room. Since we both play people working for the same person."

Joey laughed, enjoying Saya's inexperience. "Clothing measurements. You know, for your costumes. And your exactly right! It's important to get out of ones comfort zone when acting." A sly grin came over his face and he glanced over at Saya and Olivia with raised eyebrows. "You want to practice in private eh? You boys not as straight as I think you are? Perhaps I should throw in a kiss scene for y-" He was cut off by Olivia giving a sharp, but playful jab to the stomach. She knew he was kidding, but if he kept talking like that she would start to blush, which would not be good.
"Joey, I assure you I'm perfectly straight." She said holding back a laugh. To him the statement would mean she did not like guys, but it actually meant the exact opposite. Joey grinned and said, "Uh-huh, sure." Olivia rolled her eyes. ((Oh that's a good idea! I was actually thinking that Joey might take a liking to her.))

((Yay! I sorta wanna make her come early. Mostly 'cause she can't read...So she'd seriously mess up the date >>))
"Just 'cause I'm afraid of girls doesn't mean I have absolutely no interest in them," Sayaku remarked swiftly. "Besides, my point was that I don't do well practicing in huge crowds most of the time. Since we're in similar roles, it'd make sense." "I must admit, Joey, you really shouldn't assume that trying to find convenience and simplicity means orientation..." Peter rolled his eyes. "Ah well. I suppose it did seem a little strange..." "You too, Pete?" Sayaku grumbled. Why did they make such strange assumptions?
