After a few more moments, Raven put down the tablet to look at Frei.

"Alright." Laurel replied, giving Nic's hand once final squeeze before letting go, "Night then." she nodded as she turned towards the door.

Frei's expression didn't change but the worry was still in her eyes. "... frogs are fragile..." she suddenly whispered, sounding much closer to the actual child that she was.

Nic nodded, letting her go as he turned his attention back to his computer.

Raven sighed a little. "... It's late," he noted. "Perhaps if you get some sleep, we could go down the water slide a few times tomorrow."

Frei blinked once and instantly any sense of the child was gone, "I don't swim." she said blankly before turning to leave.

Frei suddenly looked angry, "Wolfe has heavy responsibilities. He doesn't have time to do the things he likes, that's not his fault. And regardless, swimming is not fun to him." she said defensively.

Raven raised his hands a little. "And that's perfectly fine if swimming isn't fun for him. But is it fun for you?"

"I... don't know." she admitted after a moment, "Rui doesn't goes near it so I don't. Water was his punishment; if he ever fell in he'd drown within minutes. He protects me so I only go where he goes." she explained with a blank voice that had a bit of edge to it.

Raven was silent for a long moment. "... Would you like to try?" he asked gently. "I would make sure nothing bad would happen."

So Laurel invited herself inside, walking over and sitting on the bed which was just big enough for her to fit beside Raven. "I might have to break up with you." she said sadly as she pulled the blanket over herself as well.
