Mercury Poisoning!

"No, you were fine. It's just something we'll have to work at. Maybe next time it would be better if the lights were on, so you can see me." She with a small smile, though it was a little sad. If her acting like a girl had made him act this nervous, what would knowing she was a girl do to him?

Pushing those thoughts from her mind she squeezed Saya's shoulder and said, "Well, stranger things have happened." She laughed. Stranger things had happened. Like this entire situation for example.

((That last statement made me giggle))

"I guess so...Like my mom trying to plant tomatoes in winter..." He grumbled when he remembered it, as it had only happened that last year. "To be honest, I'm still worried about leaving mom on her own. I really meant it when I said I'm part vampire. That's what most people in the village say," Sayaku laughed nervously. "Our dad is a major night owl. He sleeps all day and wakes up at night. He has perfect night vision too. That and when he gets cut, he just sucks his own blood to replenish the lost. He fits the description..." He laughed a bit more. "Is it possible that I am part vampire? I do love rain more than the sun. But wait...Vampires are supposed to be strong and good with girls.."

She grinned, then took Saya's arm and slowly pulled him back to his bed so they could sit down. "They are," She agreed. "Does that mean this is all an act? That in reality you could sweep a girl off her feet in a second, you just don't want to reveal your deep dark secret?" She asked with a laugh, imagining Saya in a cape and pale make-up.

((Sorry I didn't really let Saya react to being pulled, I didn't want it to be like one line.))

((S'okay. Since he knows it's his friend now, he won't react as quickly anyway xD))

"You know I could've walked myself... Though it's likely safer working together when it's this dark," He chuckled, adding, "And no, it's not an act. I really can't handle girls that well. Well, besides my sister and my mother. Mostly my mom." He laughed nervously. "The thing that makes me like a vampire is that I love it when it's not as hot out 'cause I get hot easily and my sleep habits. But really, otherwise I'd think I'm pretty normal... Well, more normal then my sister anyway."

Sitting on Saya's bed Olivia dropped his hand. Being around him seemed natural and she was starting to not think about what she was doing when it was just them. It was a good thing that he didn't seem to find anything she did strange. She smiled a small amused smile when as he talked. Vampires might be an interesting thing to paint. Even more interesting would be painting Saya as a vampire.

"Personally," She began then laughed, "I think being normal is only for those without imagination, and you, my friend, have plenty of imagination. Besides, it's much more fun to be weird." She laughed a little again. "Hmmm, as for the temperature thing, I prefer being warm. Bring on the fuzzy blankets. Always."

In this moment Olivia was glad for the darkness. Without Saya having to look at her she felt she could truly be herself. Right now she was a girl. It didn't matter if Saya was aware or not, but it made her happy.

"You're like my sister in that way. Well, to some extent. She loves warmth, but I have a feeling she's more extremist about it then you. I mean... She can wear a winter coat in summer and seemingly still be cold..." He laughed nervously. "She's far from a vampire considering that and her ailment being that she makes too much blood for her body to handle. I think she'd be better off being vampire food..." he thought about it. Hadn't he actually told his sister that part once?

"True, normal is for the lack-of-imagination to some extent. But I mean, my sister has no imagination. It's all logic based. But...She isn't normal. At all." He laughed more. "I think normal, in the end though, all depends on our own idea of it. I mean...This school is far from normal to me just because it's so big. After all, to me normal is a small community that's like a big family since it's how I grew up, you know? Others think where I live is weird. So...It's all perspective."

Olivia smiled. "You're sister sounds like such an entertaining person. I really hope I get to meet her." She also hoped his sister wouldn't be nervous around her like Saya had said she was around guys. Perhaps she would be able to somehow sense her femininity unlike her brother.

"True, just like this place is strange for me because I've never been around so many guys at one time in my life." She would get used to it thought. Well, she hoped she would.

"I hope I didn't freak you out too much when I was pretending I was a girl. Perhaps I should take it down a notch next time." She said apologetically. She really didn't want him to ever feel uncomfortable around her, especially when she acted like a girl.

"It was mostly 'cause while I thought you were a girl you touched me. Girl plus touch in my case is especially scary... Since that's what caused the fear in the first place." Sayaku laughed nervously. How pathetic was he to have to admit such a peculiar thing? That situation couldn't be normal...But to him it was life.

"She can be I guess. Though it depends on what you find entertaining. I'm hoping the people I've met here won't scare her as much. She's actually pretty calm if I'm there, strangely enough. I think it's because after last time, she expects me to protect her if something happens. Though I would likely do that anyway. But I don't think that problem should come up too easily. I'd like to think I have good judgement of character."

Olivia nodded. "Sorry about that then. I'll tone that down." She said that, but what she wanted was to reach out and take his hand then. To tell him he had nothing to be nervous about with her, and that she wasn't like those other girls. She wanted to comfort him but denied the impulse.

However that train of though made her curious about something else, something that was definitely not her business. She knew that the girls that had given him his fear had to have been violent, but she wondered if he had ever enjoyed being with them. Had their hands on his cheek felt nice? She bit her lip, and started to ask, "Saya, have you e- ah, never mind." Her face turned a bright scarlet.

"Don't start asking a question and then changing your mind. It makes people worry." Sayaku was fairly blunt as he noted the statement, leaning back again so that his head had hit the back wall, though he apparently didn't notice. He stared upward at what seemed like nothing, though he was trying to see if he could remember where the boards of the upper bed were. "If you have a question, you shouldn't fear asking. Curiosity may have killed the cat, but it's worse if you don't get the satisfaction of an answer to bring you back from that death. That's what I was always told..."

Olivia laughed. "It's not that I'm afraid to ask exactly, it's just that it's, um... a very personal question, and probably not appropriate... at all. It will probably make you feel uncomfortable." Her faced burned as she spoke. Why had she even thought of that question? It was still in her mind and of course she still wanted to know.

"Why? Does it have to do with my sister's health? Nah that wouldn't be considered personal for me. Um..." He tried to think of what the question would be, but now he was flustered by the very thought. "I can't even make a guess. Dang.... Now you have me curious!"

Olivia swallowed loudly, nervous. "I-It um... w-well it's..." She wanted to smack herself in the forehead for stuttering so much. She felt as if her face would burn off, but she knew she had to ask it, if only to satisfy Sayaku's curiosity. She took a deep breath. "I-I was wondering if you h-had... ah... done the... er... um." She took another deep breath an blurted it out. "Sex. What I mean is have you...?" Yes, her face was most definitely going to burn off.

"My virginity is still in tact, thanks." He laughed a bit. The way the other boy had asked was quite intriguing. "You're a unique one with that subject. A majority of guys I know get excited and just talk about it like it's nothing. Glad to meet someone who actually talks about it as if it has meaning. It's sorta annoys me the way most guys treat it." He chuckled still.

"I never had an interest in someone enough to think about it really. It's just not me y'know? I think that's something that'll just happen when time decides it's, well, time. But I'm not really worried about whether or not I do it in the end or not. There are more important things then something like that."

Olivia let out a breathy laugh, relieved. The heat started to slowly to leave her face, though much of it remained. "Do they?" She said curious. Then she remebered that she was also a guy. "I, um, wha I mean is most of my friends are girls so I've never really talked about it with other guys. It means a lot to the girls that I know so I've always seen it as very important." She leaned back on the bed, feeling the softness beneath her. It was strange to talk about this with someone who wasn't one of her sisters or female friend from home.

"That's true. I guess the way we think about things is also affected by our environment. Well, to some extent." He smiled a bit, noticing the way his words seemed slightly cautious. "Are you alright? You're speaking a little off..."
