You were lucky then. Here the kids started at 8am and got out at 2:25pm. Such a short day. >.<

o.o; No kidding.
I did think that extending the school day to 3:10 was pretty stupid, though. Ten minutes per day does exactly nothing if your intent is to make kids be in school longer -- it TECHNICALLY complies with the rule, but my school put those extra ten minutes IN THE PASSING PERIODS. So the kids weren't IN CLASS any more than they were before! Completely idiotic.

In my opinion it's for the people who are too ignorant to see the teachers and school board staff are just looking for a way to make them think those few minutes are helping. Here I don't see how a extra 15 minutes helps when they are wanting to get a whole extra day off from work. One reason I hope to be outta this state by the next school term.

The school system is full of bull..
I just don't argue anymore. To tell the truth, half the time I don't quite understand why they do what they do.. The just need to put money towards councils that will actually council and help the kids rather then new books that are just going to be ruined in 3/4 years by those depressed/school hating kids. ![]()

They took all our funds for schools to pay staff in the offices and to do what they called Teacher classes. We got about 10 new buses for 5 districts. An then they upped what the colleges get while cutting the funds for our elementary schools and middle schools by about 60% in the last three years. High schools were not cut so badly but they placed that no kid left behind act in the schools. An now they won't give bad grades lower than a 60 so one never knows how badly their kids need help anymore.

It is, and so many are not in school now since their parents decided to home school them. In SC teachers make between 28k-36k a year and they complain that it's not enough. The kids here are not so bad in the schools either as some places are so it's a bit bothersome and annoying.

Teachers are never happy. They shouldn't have a union. >:[] If the school boards could fire their asses at any time, there would be a lot more teaching and a lot less kvetching...and a bigger turnover so a lot less burnout.
They do say you have to kill your doppelganger...it's you, or it!
