Local Weirdo
Default   #33
When the other Hunter arrived Lily turned to face her, feeling the tension ease slightly with another presence in the room.
"Looks that way..." she murmured. She flexed out her fingers at her sides, the leather of her gloves squeaking slightly at the movement.
The three of them waited in silence for a few more minutes until the leader of their group finally descended the stairs.

"Sorry for making all of you wait, had to go over some things with the other team leaders real quick," Jack announced as he stepped down from the last step. Lily could practically see his mind going from his usual light-hearted manner to the serious excitement he gained right before a hunt.
A slight smile formed on his lips as he continued, "You all remember the plan, correct? The target is located on the southern outskirts of the city, finding refuge among the forest there. We head straight south from here, right into the lion's den... or the salamander's as it were," he coughed out a quick laugh at that, "We only need to focus on finding him and taking him out, focus on the battle and use common sense. This guy is deadly, and I don't want any of you being stupid and getting yourselves killed."
He said the final line with a dark seriousness, any trace of humor washed out of his voice. Out of the corner of her eye, Lily saw Desmond nod in understanding, his eyes locked on Jack. She followed suit and then took a deep breath. The hunt would finally start.

---

The three of them seemed to understand the job ahead, so without another word Jack marched forward to the gaping hole that led outside.
It completely dark, only small pinpricks of light peeking out from the dense clouds that covered the sky.
Just as planned Jack thought to himself, knowing that the mission had been scheduled for a night of the new moon and with heavy clouds in the forecast. The darkness would help them to hunt down the Salamander, giving them some sort of cover to move under. This would make it a bit harder to find their target as well, but it was better than being fully exposed by bright moonlight.

Jack brought his arm up and glanced down at the watch that covered his wrist. Pressing a small button on the side, he raised the device up to his lips and spoke into it, "Team A, now moving southbound. Teams B and C, start your maneuvers."
The two other teams were an important part to this hunt, being the ones who would both distract and herd the Controller straight to Jack's group and allow them to strike and hopefully bring an end to him at last.

Hakuna matata
"Get her," The man commanded in a cold manner, glaring at what to most seemed like just a shadow, nothing more. "Little Lisa will be a good enough pawn this time around for our game." A nod escaped that of the creature it spoke to, as it soon fled.

Though Lisa had tried to keep a close eye on the area, doing as told by Jack from the beginning, it was unfortunate to her taht she was the most likely to target. She was grabbed from behind, causing a quick screech of natural surprise, however she soon negotiated it by trying to fight the beast. However, the way she was pinned down with her arms at her sides was too strong- the hand of the beast had too much strength compared to her. "Everyone, on guard! Don't follow!" She knew her brother all too well. "I can at least try to prevent them from falling into stupid's trap..."
