Ah. Yeah, not the best use of LT I think, since it's really a social cataloguing site. Once you hit 200 books you need to upgrade to a paid account, which I'm tempted to do anyway, just to fund it a little.

oof. goodreads is free. i joined in feb of 2014 (so the site says) and have books recorded on it back from 2008 - i've recorded 731 books that i've read over that time. (the link is in my sig, if you're curious.) =)

I've seen Goodreads around and have used it to look up reviews when I was going through my mother's book collection. I wasn't too interested in making an account because I've never really wanted to bother making a log of the books I've read. I've picked up LibraryThing because it has some professional application and because I actually do want to start a little miniature library at some point. The books I enter are the ones that I own and would (theoretically) circulate.
One person's description was that LibraryThing puts book data ahead of the social aspect, while Goodreads does it the other way around. Another person described it as LibraryThing is a library, and Goodreads is a bookstore. Where you go depends on what your purpose is.

I've tried to do that a couple of times, but I always find myself getting overwhelmed when I feel compelled to add all the stuff I've read previously. I might have a big of a book bragging habit I suppose... ;)
7 more chapters in Big Red. I'm going to need to read faster than one a day to finish on time. I can't decide on final categories for the reading challenge list I'm making. Anyone have ideas?

when i started keeping track - 2008 - i would post what i was reading on my LiveJournal. then i actually made a list on google docs, and found it was easier to add a book when i was actually in contact with the book (from the time right before i'd start it until just after i finished it (but before i started the next one).) if i tried to remember a book or two back, it didn't go well.
i also post a pic of the cover on my instagram sometime when i'm reading it too, so that helps me keep track as well.

Blah. I'm a few pages from finishing Big Red but I've put it down because I'm just not in the mood to read it. I want to finish it today (last day of March!) but I don't like reading for the sake of finishing something. I'd rather be be in the mood to pay attention.
So I' starting to send my mom to the local bookstore when I want something. Seems silly but if I want something I need to actually get it shipped and I can't be bothered to pay shipping for one book! I ordered a pillowcase that was sold out online and she went to pick it up. Apparently the guy at the till knows who we are. I didn't think I went into the store that much. Something for an old lady to do in a day. ;)

Big Red complete!
Wasn't going to pick up another book until after my assignments were complete but that never seems to work well, if only because I end up pouting instead of reading and no extra time is spent on my assignment anyway. Time to knock something off my shelf! Going with The Princess Diarist.

Ah yeah....I keep forgetting to actually read. I am really slacking on my reading pace. Pretty sure I'll have to plow through 3 per month to make it now...

I generally keep my post here more updated than my goodreads list. Mainly because the app is still laggy for me and I'm too lazy to use the website.
