Spore is a great game, but it gets boring fast. Though maybe that's because it crashes whenever I get to the space age or whatever it was called. I like the creature age where you first create and edit your creature.

depends where you buy it i think its like 20$ for the game at bestbuys? Not sure. You can also just get a digital copy of the game or buy it that way and i think it's a bit cheaper. You'd have o look around at prices. ^.^;
