I wasn`t familiar with the poem myself but I`d come across pieces and eventually learned that he had written a poem by that name in lit class. I just so happened that I bought a cheap omnibus of poetry classics for children and it was in there.

My G.A.T.E. teacher in elementary school made us memorize the poem and also write our own version sorta, so for a long time I had it memorized. I still have the first... what, stanza? memorized.
'Tis a picture of Tokyo I took. ^^ I'm a girl. I love Writing Tools, and KPop, and minty stuffs.

(。◕‿◕。) I loved it actually, but the Mad Hatter did scare the crap out of me. He is so darn creepy. ╚═════════════════════════════════╝

Depp was awesome! But yeah, they did edit his eyes to he disproportionatly large compared to the rest of his face, and I'm sure Johnny added his own oddities to the role. I liked Helena Bonham Carter too. (I'm pretty sure I spelt her name wrong). I usually don't notice her too much in Burton's films, Sweeny Todd aside, but I liked her Red Queen, and I'm an Alan Rickman fan too, so I was all over the movie.

(。◕‿◕。) Which one was Alan Quiet? I do admit though that Helen was awesome. Her version of the creepy Queen was great. I was scared at first to see the movie but it was really good. I should watch it again. ╚═════════════════════════════════╝

I saw it once... I was a little upset, because, just like you, I expected SO much more.
I mean, come on! Its a Tim Burton movie! It was supposed to be amazing! /le sarcasm But ... I don't know. Maybe I'll have to watch it myself a second time around. But I do have to say.. Johnny Depp made a really good Mad Hatter. xDD; Mama bat to a beautiful baby bat <3

Rickman was the voice for Absolem, the catepillar.
Personally, I didn't really think there was much hype at all but given that I usually don't bother to look at anything in the way of movie info at all, it's a fair thing to say that I wouldn't have noticed anyway. I knew that Tim Burton was directing a new version of Alice and Wonderland and it seemed more or less in line which what I've seen from him before.

I actually didn't expect to like this movie, and then I really, really, enjoyed it. I loved that it wasn't as 'cutsy' as the other versions out there. And, yes, I loved the costuming like none other. I was also interested to watch the making-of bits, so I found what they did tweak fascinating.
Tangentially, I also sort of used the designs/layouts to mentally lay out The Looking Glass Wars when reading it...though I would love to see Depp as Hatter Madegenn..... I've gone to look for myself, if I should return before I get back keep me here.

I loved the making of bits, and how they sort of meshed computer and live action together so nobody was really 100% one way or the other. Not perfect of course. It shows up in some scenes with Stain and the horse but I'd like to see more of it done.
