first job was working as a dishwasher at a nursing home. I was a sophomore in high school, and it was one of the hardest jobs I've ever had. I was paid a little more than minimum wage at the time, and it was part-time... it sucked because I'd get attached to the residents...
I use She/Her and They/Them pronouns.

These are all really interesting. I am glad I asked. I liked reading everyone's replies. :)

My first job was at a Petsmart and I lasted exactly one day, after the person showing me around just left me to fend for myself in the middle of a crowd of people asking for fish (which I wasn't taught how to remove from tanks properly) and crickets.
I'm not good under stressful situations, nor am I good with people -- who, to their credit, were pretty sympathetic and understanding when I started crying in front of a wall of fish tanks -- so I returned my uniform the next day. The job I got after that was also retail (a chain bookstore in the mall) and I lasted two weeks. After that, I got a desk job where I don't have to deal with people or sell things. It's much better. ![]() | ||||
